LM Performance Horses

LM Performance Horses Lora Meins is a professional horse trainer and horse/human educator. We also provide specialty horses for stunt work in film/tv production.

LMPH is a training program designed to provide well rounded horses that are as broke as they can be so clients can take them and use them in whatever discipline that want to focus on. Additionally, we buy/sell quality horses, offer lessons, and training of outside horses with the principles of natural horsemanship that train the horses mind to be calm and confident in a variety of settings. Lora’s

background is in reining. Her skills in horse training have earned her several movie jobs over the years. She competed in the NRHA for 15 years winning national and regional titles before getting into mounted shooting, mustang makeovers, and more. She has worked for trainers around the country for reining and cutting and have had the opportunity to train reiners abroad. Her training program is inspired by some of the best horseman in the country: like Stacy Westfall, Guy McLean, Clinton Anderson, Buck Brannaman and more. During her colt starting, she uses a lot of equipment to provide as much stimulus as possible early on such as: water, tarps, gun fire (blanks), whips, rattles, plastic bags, pool noodles, small jumps, ropes, pulling, work with cattle and more. Acheivements include:
World Champion Hunter Under Saddle at the Morgan Horse Nationals 1994
Reserve World Champion Western Pleasure at the Morgan Horse Nationals 1994
2x Arkansas State Youth Reining Champion
Winner of the Youth Reining at the Dixie Nationals 2001
2 wins in L1 Mounted Shooting in first 6 months of competing
Youth Regional Champion for NRHA Central Region

We are fortunate to not have any exposure at our place concerning EHV1 but we are on lockdown. Nobody coming horses coming or going for a while. Prayers for all those affected. This is a terrible situation for the equine world.

I got another person hooked on mounted shooting. Congrats, Scott, on your purchase of Chimi. Abby has done a great job with him and it’s awesome to watch someone try this sport for the first time and smile from ear to ear.

Tess yesterday practicing her reading which is a very new trick and I wouldn’t consider it “finished” as of yet. Still working on height. Next, I’ll teach her the cue from the saddle and Emerson has agreed to volunteer for the job. 😂.

Please find me on TikTok (search for Lora Meins) if you want to see the video compilation of Tess’ training to be a rear horse.

(Note: This is NOT for every horse and every horse owner. This needs to be done under supervision of a professional. Do not assume your 11 year old kid is okay to do this with their playday horse. I don’t care how “handy” you think your child is. This IS dangerous enough that you should consult a professional, FIRST.)
