HAPPY NATIONAL RESCUE DOG DAY!
Let's see those rescue pups! Here is Lisa and her newest rescue addition.

National Rescue Dog Day is observed annually on May 20, celebrating the adoption of rescue dogs and raising awareness about shelter animals.
The day aims to promote the adoption of dogs from shelters, and rescue organizations, bringing attention to the millions of dogs in need of loving homes across the United States.

Each year, approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters in the U.S., but only about half are adopted, and many are left at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding.
National Rescue Dog Day raises awareness of this crisis and brings attention to that fact that rescue dogs are capable of providing companionship, emotional support, police work and even service to people with disabilities.

Keep these pet safety tips in mind as you enjoy your Easter holiday.
Lillies and other plants can be toxic and even deadly to dogs & cats.
Chocolate and fatty foods can make your pets sick and require hospitalization and even putting their life at risk as well.
Holiday decorations, easter baskets and fake grass can cause obstructions and emergencies.
If you are not sure just keep your pet away until you can check with us.

If you have an emergency over the holiday weekend, Anne Arundel Veterinary Emergency Center is open 24/7 and can be reached at 410-224-0331 or Dogs & Cats Emergency & Specialty can also be reached 24/7 at 301-809-8800.
