Cats of the Homeward Bound Project

We are a 501c3, non-profit organization that was founded in 2007. Homeward Bound rescues and vets cats and kittens in the Starkville, MS area.

We are entirely foster based and operated by volunteer veterinary students (with administrative supervision and some amazing volunteer medical caregivers). You can see our feline friends available for adoption at the Petco in Meridian, MS. If you need help finding a new furry friend or are interested in any of our babies, don't hesitate to contact us! If you enjoy following our efforts, be sure to share with your friends and help us find "furever" homes for our kitties!

🐾 Meet Cardi B & Doja Cat! 🐾

🎤 Cardi B:
I might be a little shy at first, but once you earn my trust and give me some treats, I’ll be your loyal best friend! I love back scratches, chasing feather toys, and climbing to the very top of my cat tree!

🎶 Doja Cat:
I’m the affectionate social butterfly of the duo — always ready for cuddles and attention! My favorite things are treats, back and belly scratches, and batting around my stuffed toys.

✨ This fabulous duo can be adopted together or separately — they’d love to go home as a pair, but each would also shine as a solo superstar in a loving home!

🐱 Meet Webber & Addison! 🐱 We love this black cat duo!!

Webber is a playful goofball with endless energy and a heart full of love 💕Curious and affectionate, he thrives on being the center of attention and is always ready to be your best friend 🖤 His favorite pastime is zooming around and his favorite toy is his scratching post! Once his energy is spent, he loves curling up beside you for some well-earned cuddles 💤🐾
Addison is his sweet and spirited sister 💖 She may be reserved at first, but once she comes out of her shell, she’ll happily spend hours curled up in your lap. She’s a little chatterbox who will remind you when it’s time for her favorite treat — wet food! 🍽️ She might be small, but Addison is a firecracker ⚡ who never backs down from a challenge — especially when it comes to playing with her brother!

Meet Ralph & Miss Daisy 💕
Ralph (aka Lover Boy) is the ultimate purr machine — a total sweetheart who lets his sister take the lead in most things… except cuddle time . He’s a nap champion and guaranteed to steal your heart and never let go!

Miss Daisy is his perfect match — adventurous, bold, and never afraid to tell her brother what’s what . She loves to explore new spaces but is just as quick to snuggle up when it’s time to rest.

These two are easygoing, people-loving, and get along great with other adult cats and even a large dog! They’re ready to find their forever home 🏠🐱🤎🤍

Meet our dynamic duo - Nicki Minaj and Ludacris! 🎤 Nicki Minaj is a playful kitten who loves to the get the zoomies and play with cardboard tunnels! She loves to cuddle with her brother, Ludacris, or the closest human!! She is overall such a sweet, quirky girl.

Ludacris is a fun playful guy that loves to sit with you while you get ready or just go anywhere you might be! He loves stuffed animal toys and loves to get the zoomies with his sister, Nicki Minaj. Overall a sweetheart kitty!

These two make the perfect duo and would be happy to be adopted together but they can also thrive separately in loving homes! 🏠🖤🐱

Meet Cody!! 🩶🤍🐱 Cody is a handsome little guy with a shy and thoughtful personality. At first, he may hang back and quietly observe, but once he feels safe, his true sweetness shines through. When Cody warms up to you, he adores gentle pets and turns into a loving companion who will happily soak up your affection.

He also has a playful side – batting his favorite ball around and entertaining himself with toys once he’s comfortable in his space. Cody would do best in a home that understands he might need a little time to blossom, but once he gets to know you he’ll be your best friend!

Once he feels comfortable, Sloan becomes a calm, steady presence and a wonderful companion. He may not wear his affection on his sleeve, but earning his trust makes the bond all the more rewarding. My name is Eowyn and I am the sweetest tortie girl! 🧡🖤 My brother and I were found on the side of the road. I was found with an injury to my lower lip so I sometimes look like I am sticking out my tongue. I am looking for a calm house where I can follow my human around and take lots of naps on soft blankets. I love to play with toys and chin scratches. Meet Kyle!! 🧡 Kyle is the ultimate combination of sweet, sassy, and social. He's a charming heartthrob who adores having friends and gets along great with both cats and dogs! He flourishes in a home with buddies to play and snuggle with.

From his foster: With some patience and attention, Kyle has really blossomed into a confident and quirky cat. He’s so playful and loves his string toys and mouses. After playtime, he’ll snuggle right on the couch with you for hours while you watch tv, especially Netflix. I think he recognizes the sound and knows it’s time to jump on the couch with me. He’s even comfortable riding in his carrier for an hour long drive!

Tuna is a playful, energetic, and loving girl with a heart of gold who’s ready to find her forever home! Being a three legged girl does not slow her down! She loves to play with any and all toys- especially balls she can chase. After playtime, Tuna wants nothing more than to cuddle up with you and make lots of biscuits. Tuna can be a little shy at first, but with a little love and patience her personality really shines.

Tuna is FIV-positive, but don’t worry - she can still live a long, happy life, just like any other cat! Anyone would be lucky to have sweet Tuna as their kitty companion! Tuna is currently in a foster home, please reach out to us if you are interested in meeting her!! 🏠🤍
