Cool kids (buns) go to the vet on Fridays! We're here with Benji, Thorn, and everyone's favorite tilty girl Eliza!

Benji & Thorn are receiving their second RHD vaccine and Eliza has a recheck appointment for her E. Cuniculi.

Thorn may have an announcement later as well!

In addition to Link joining us last week, we also welcomed Lil back to the kingdom.

Lil was part of our large intake of Flemish and Continental Giants back in 2023 and is Luca's sister. She was adopted just about two years ago. Unfortunately, she was surrendered back due to her owner's upcoming move out of the country.

Lil is a spayed Flemish Giant who currently weighs 14lbs! As soon as her vaccine is up to date, she will be available for adoption. Lil is an excellent free roamer and gets along with both cats and dogs.

🗡🛡 Link Update 🗡🛡

Our gentle giant Link visited our friends at Bethel Vet yesterday afternoon and quickly made himself right at home! In what seems to be the theme with Bunlandia intakes this year, Link is a hot mess. We learned a lot yesterday so let's jump right in.

Link has:
🏹Entropion in both eyes. Entropion is when the eyelid turns inward toward the eyeball and can cause irritation. Link's is minor in both eyes, but more pronounced in his left.
🏹Total cataracts in both eyes, where the entire lenses are completely cloudy and opaque.
🏹Moist dermatitis on his chin.
🏹Low muscle mass/muscle wasting specifically towards his lower spine.
🏹Tall crowns on his teeth.
🏹Fur mites.
🏹E. Cuniculi?

So now what?

For his eyes, Link was given a glaucoma pressure test, to measure the intraocular pressure of his eyes. Thankfully, his pressure is at a normal level, so he was prescribed eye drops to ease any discomfort/inflammation he may feel. The entropion is minor and requires no immediate treatment.
The moist dermatitis on his chin we can treat at home. The tall crowns are from not eating hay, we are working with him to try and expand his palate to include hay.
We suspect that the muscle wasting is likely due to improper diet/malnutrition. Although Link is 16lbs, he is underweight! We are working on getting him up to a healthy weight for a rabbit of his size.
Link received treatment for the fur mites immediately upon intake Thursday evening.
Both a CBC and E. Cuniculi bloodwork panels were taken to get a better picture of Link's overall health and determine if EC could be playing a role in his hot mess status.
Lastly, we dropped off a f***l to rule out internal parasites.

We have yet to receive the invoice his Link's visit yesterday, but we expect it to be in the $800 range. If you would like to help cover yesterday's bill for our Hyrule Hopper, you can do so here:

🗡🛡 Introducing Link 🗡🛡

We were not expecting to welcome a new bun friend this week, but after hearing about this big man, we knew he was destined for Bunlandia.

This big guy is three years old and weighs in at a whopping 16lbs! We have some concerns about his health, namely a large cataract in one eye and a suspected ear infection. He is an intact male. This guy is so sweet and instantly gave me kisses!

He reminds us so very much of our beloved Queen Zelda, so it only felt right to name him Link!

Link has a vet appointment tomorrow afternoon. We will be sure to update you on his appointment!

If you would like to donate to Link's care, you can do so here:

Hello friends! Apologies for being so quiet this week. Some of you may know that I live with chronic migraine and this past weekend/week has been particularly bad, so I haven't been up to making posts and I'm sure I'm behind on emails as well.

We have also been busy with boarders! Bunlandia alums Fig and Magnolia enjoyed a brief vacation with us last week. Cannoli and Theo enjoyed movie night, and although Theo has gone home, Cannoli is still with us and enjoying her Bunlandian getaway.
Our friends Bagel and Ipa are also enjoying their stay (Bagel is pictured, Ipa was camera shy).

We are filling up fast for the summer and only have a couple spots left. If you need boarding, please reach out sooner rather than later.

Sunday Funday with another salad club restock! I was really lucky to show up at a slow time and was able to snag a close parking spot, all the spring mix I needed, AND no line at the registers! I was in and out in under 5 minutes! A big bunny THANK YOU to our friends Anna & Gary! Due to their generous salad club donation last week, we were also able to entirely cover this week's restock and likely next week's as well! Today's total came to $52.43.

Our weekly cost for bunny greens averages $70-$100. If you would like to help with any amount, you can reach out directly or donate here:

If you would like to sponsor an entire week, please reach out so we can properly thank you in our salad club posts!

**Foster Friday**

Acai has been having so much fun in her foster home! Maybe even a little too much fun! Tuesday morning, Acai’s foster mom noticed that she was favoring her left rear leg, not putting much weight on it and not being her usual exploring self. Acai had no obvious signs of injury, but a quick visit to the vet would reveal early stages of arthritis in her rear left hip. Basically, Acai is having so much fun running around the apartment that she tweaked her leg a little and has been sentenced to a week of pen rest and anti-inflammatory medication. In addition, we have offered her a self warming mat and started PEMF therapy with an Assisi Loop in hopes that helps with her discomfort. Acai also celebrated her 4th birthday on Monday! She has had quite the week!

A big thank you to Acai’s foster mom for noticing that our girl was acting off and ferrying her to/from the vet on short notice! Another huge thanks to those of you who have donated your Assisi Loops that still have uses on them to our buns!

Acai’s vet bill came to $218.80 if anyone would like to donate towards her invoice.
