Meet our sanctuary buns!

Arrival in Bunlandia: 6/13/2024
History: Luca arrived with his Mom and siblings as part of our largest single intake to date of 23 Flemish and Continental Giants. He was just a few weeks old when he arrived and would eventually be adopted in May 2024 after a successful speed date. Luca returned to Bunlandia with the intention of completing the bonding here, but shortly after his return, he began showing symptoms of illness and many tests and biopsies later, would be diagnosed with antibiotic resistant strains of staph and syphilis. These infections attacked his skin and hair follicles, resulting in widespread hair loss. After months of treatment, Luca made a full recovery. Due to the complexity of his infection and not having a clear cause (we believe the resident bun in his former adoptive home may be a carrier), Luca earned sanctuary status. Today he is tightly bonded to Addie.
Personality: A very happy silly man. He loves to periscope, binky, and ZOOM!

Meet our sanctuary buns!

Arrival in Bunlandia: 12/1/2022
History: Surrendered with his brother Tully, Arn fractured his leg as a young Flemish, leading to amputation. As he grew and his body adjusted to life with 3 legs, one of his front legs splayed slightly.
Personality: Affectionate tough guy. Loves to cuddle with his guys. Momma’s boy who gives kisses when we help clean his ears.

Sunday scaries include our weekly visit to the restaurant supply store for our salad restock. Along with our usual spring mix, dill was on sale again, and we also grabbed some blueberries as a nice treat for the buns. A big bunny THANK YOU to Keeley for sponsoring this week's salad restock! Keeley's donationa was so generous that we will also be able to partially fund next week's restock! Our total this week came to $63.79.

Arrival in Bunlandia: 10/6/2022 & 2/8/2026 (surrendered back)
History: Originally arrived with his sister Hope, who had severe bone infections in her feet. Beau was adopted out and bonded to Luffy, but when their owner became ill, both Beau and Luffy were surrendered to Bunlandia. Due to Luffy’s health issues, both Beau and Luffy became sanctuary buns. After Luffy’s passing last month, Beau has found support from his other bondmates.
Personality: A lovable goofball. Extremely food motivated.

Meet our sanctuary buns!

Arrival in Bunlandia: 5/9/2024
History: Addie was found and caught by a local animal control on May 8, 2024 and gave birth to a litter of four that night. Those four (Chickpea, Lentil, Navy, & Pinto) would become known as our Beanie Babies. Addie has a history of easily going into stasis. We have seen similar issues with her offspring, so believe this may be a familial abnormality. Addie is tightly bonded to sanctuary member Luca.
Personality: A very sassy lady with a taste for mischief. Loves to dig and burrow under blankets. Probably using her helicopter ears to pick up free satellite radio.

Arrival in Bunlandia: 6/7/2022
History: Left in a box with 6 other rabbits. Overgroomed by Mom resulting in missing ears, left rear foot, blindness in right eye. Would later require a full amputation of the left rear leg. Ash was previously bonded to Snap up until her passing last year and he is now part of our group of 7, the Grey Guys.
Personality: Opinionated Dutch who may actually be an incognito guinea pig.

Meet our Sanctuary Buns!

Arrival in Bunlandia: 10/18/2019

History: Zeus is both our longest and our oldest resident and the “elder statesbun” of Bunlandia. He originally comes from our friends at Hopalong Hollow when he and ~60 other rabbits were rescued from an abandoned backyard breeding operation. He is currently bonded to 6 other buns as part of the Greys and one half of our “grumpy old men” with Possum. Zeus has many age related issues, mostly arthritis so soft cushioned flooring that provides support and traction are extremely helpful for him.

Personality: A grumpy old potato who is secretly a big softie. Has been known to bite syringes in half. Not the tip of the syringe, he will puncture the entire tube! Fiercely loves his bondmates. Since he has been here the longest, he has had to say goodbye to many friends. Through the years, he has mourned the loss of Hera, Odin, Hercules, Muttley, and Snorky alongside us. Zeus has a quiet dignity to him that makes him truly special.
