I know I haven't been posting updates as often as I should; the main reason is I start Massage Therapy School (for people). So starting in October I will be adding human massages to my listen of services.

The following videos is why I do what I do. Sage has been slightly off for the two month or so after slipping during turn out. Her owner had her adjusted by a chiropractor shortly before I worked on sage. Sage was still slightly off before or session. These were taken 4 days after the session.

Hello everyone! I am now accepting bookings for April. At M.A.M.A., I believe in meeting each horse where they are during their treatment. My goal is to help horses feel at ease while releasing tension, stress, and anxiety in a way that is comfortable and natural for them. I use a variety of techniques, including myofascial release, Swedish massage, and Reiki, to guide the horse in acknowledging and releasing tension from their body.

In addition to being a certified horse massage therapist, I am also in the process of becoming a licensed human massage therapist in Missouri and Illinois. Feel free to message me to schedule an appointment today!

Before and after. This horse experienced lower back pain behind the saddle, which began when the barn started feeding him from a hay bag to reduce hay loss. During his first massage, I suggested feeding him on the ground in addition to regular massage. After three weeks, his back pain and swelling showed significant improvement.

I had the joy of working with this lovely boy today. He was very antsy when we started with lots of moving and pawing. Almost all the time I will allow horses to express themselves how they want during our session rather than force them to stand still or act how I think they should.

I started with gentle touch down the bladder median as I do with most of my sessions. I was not surprised that it took me almost an hour to get this done on both sides. By the end he was starting to relax so I stepped away to let him think. I continue to work on him and he began to physically show me where he wanted/need attention. After two hours total of working with him he was no longer pawing and was actually falling asleep. The owner, Melissa Boyer, took a lesson afterwards and texted me "He was amazing. He is looser in his stifles and could actually do some lateral work, and his brain was in such a good place."

I love working with what people call problem horses or horses who do not express themselves in typical ways. I have been bit, kicked at and even charged at while working with horses. Almost every time a horse has reacted in they are releasing some long held onto tension or they have never learned how to properly interact with the world. I do not get after these horses (unless it is obvious they are just being rude or taking advantage) instead i try to find a safe, reassuring way to work with them. I can't wait to work on this guy again.

This lovely quarter horse was present at the Missouri Quarter Horse Association Gateway Classic Show but wasn't in top form. After a two-hour session of my special show, he was much happier and showed excellent horsemanship.
