$5 Friday for Rusty!

We've raised $753 so far towards his $3100+ emergency vet visit.

This poor baby was born from a feral momma cat that some kind friends took in to be fixed and there were no signs she was pregnant. Then "pop", she delivered babies. This was the first Rusty was failed because if someone had fixed momma sooner he wouldn't have been born into this world, but he was along with his siblings.

Second human fail - Rusty had an adopter lined up, but after all this they backed out!

Rusty is back with his foster now and doing well. To keep it short and as simple as possible here's what happened...

From trying to expell the parasites (worms) from his little body, since he was a product of a feral momma, the last portion of his small intestine, called the Ileum, pushed its way down to the colon. This required surgery to remove the Ileum as it was damaged beyond saving. This is the only portion of the body that absorbs B12 to reproduce red blood cells. As a result, he will require B12 injections for life.

The B12 injections are only once a week as a kitten and then once a month as an adult, so no big deal. He will still be able to live a happy and healthy life.

So now we are looking for the right adopter for this sweet boy and pleading for donations to help cover his surgery costs so that we can continue our mission to save as many as possible!

We never back down due to cost when saving a life, but can't continue to do it without your support. Please consider donating $5 on this Friday or even $1...anything you can contribute will help us save more! If you can't donate, please help share Rusty's story!

We want to send a SHOUT OUT and THANK YOU to these outstanding young ladies for their kindness! They put together a lemonade stand to raise money and buy much needed donations for our furry friends in rescue!

Welcome to rescue "hot dog" kitties! The business that caught the first one offered it a hot dog 🌭 since they didn't keep cat food on hand 😹 we are thankful they reached out for help! Some good friends of ours who lived nearby contacted us right away and were able to set a trap to get the 2nd kitten.

We think these babies are about 6 to 7 weeks old, which is right at the breaking point of becoming friendly or feral. They are just scared and with a little work they will become loving kitties and ready for homes in the upcoming weeks. They will get fixed, vaccinated, snap tested and microchipped!

Our friends are keeping an eye out for momma or anymore kittens in the area! 😻🐾

Check out Malcolm and Jayne, now Mannix and Bandit, that were kitten siblings adopted together in 2024! They are best friends and always together ❤️😻🐾 this is why we always encourage people to adopt in pairs!
