Meet Apollo.

Apollo came to rescue after his beloved owner passed away, and while he’s safe, cared for, and spoiled, what he really wants is a family of his own again.

At around 10 years old, Apollo has fully embraced his main character era. He’s charming, opinionated, confident, and absolutely convinced that every room belongs to him. Honestly? He’s usually not wrong.

Apollo spent some time at the café, but let’s just say his enthusiasm for managing everyone else’s business created a little more chaos than the team could handle. He wasn’t a bad employee, just perhaps a little too committed to being in charge.

Now he’s looking for a home where he can be exactly who he is: the star of the show, the supervisor of daily activities, and the recipient of all the love he deserves.

Behind all that personality is a sweet soul who has already experienced a lot of change. We’d love nothing more than to see him spend his golden years curled up in a home where he’s cherished.

Meet Calvin.

Calvin first came to Smelly Cat in 2022 after his mama brought him to the back door of a home in Lake Saint Louis. He was about 8 weeks old and already showing signs of neurological challenges that we later learned were caused by Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH).

Sadly, Calvin’s family has fallen on difficult times and must move into a temporary living situation that doesn’t allow pets. Making the decision to surrender a beloved family member is never easy, and our hearts go out to everyone involved.

While it’s heartbreaking that Calvin has lost the home he’s known, we’re grateful to be able to help him find his next chapter.

For now, Calvin is getting settled back in with the rescue. We’ll share updated photos and videos soon, but we couldn’t let this throwback cuteness stay hidden any longer.

For those who have been following Smelly Cat since 2022, you might remember him by his rescue name: Rudy.

Meet your new favorite stair-running, toy-fetching, box-loving queen.

At 2.5 years old, this gorgeous calico has perfected the art of entertaining herself. Her foster says she loves playing fetch… with herself! She’ll toss a toy down the stairs, race after it, carry it back up, and start all over again. Honestly, it’s a pretty impressive cardio routine.

When she’s not busy creating her own games, you’ll find her sleeping peacefully in her cat tree beside the bed, enjoying her favorite wet food, or accepting treats like the royalty she knows she is.

This sweet girl is looking for a forever home where she can shine. She can be a little bossy with other cats, so she’d do best as an only cat or with a confident feline friend who won’t be intimidated by her take-charge personality. Super passive cats may not appreciate her leadership style. 😹

We are so grateful for our friends at Pet Supplies Plus St. Charles!

If you’ve followed Smelly Cat Rescue for any length of time, you’ve probably seen just how often Pet Supplies Plus shows up for local rescue organizations. Whether it’s hosting adoption events, supporting fundraisers, collecting donations, or finding creative ways to help animals in need, they are truly one of the good ones.

Now through June 7, you can support Smelly Cat Rescue simply by purchasing a gift card donation at Pet Supplies Plus St. Charles. The store will add an extra 20% donation match and deliver the gift cards directly to us to help care for the cats and kittens in our program.

These donations help provide essentials like food, litter, treats, toys, and supplies for the hundreds of cats who rely on us each year while they wait for loving homes.
