One of the questions I am asked most often is what happens to the dog waste after I scoop it.

The answer is simple. I bag it, remove it from the property, and take it with me.

My customers do not have to find room for it in their own garbage can, deal with the smell, or worry about a heavy bag sitting beside the house until trash day.

Once the yard has been completely checked and cleaned, the waste leaves with me.

It may seem like a small part of the service, but it makes the entire process much easier and more convenient for the customer.

The goal is for me to leave behind a clean yard, not another chore for the homeowner to handle.

Letting someone onto your property is a big deal.

Even when the service takes place outside, you are still trusting that person around your home, your belongings, your gate, and most importantly, your dogs.

That trust is not something I expect automatically. It is something I work to earn over time.

I earn it by showing up when I say I will, communicating clearly, treating every property with respect, securing gates, being careful around the dogs, and doing consistent work every visit.

Over time, many of my customers become comfortable enough to leave gates unlocked, give me access instructions, or trust me to care for their dogs when they are not home.

I never take that confidence lightly.

Being trusted on someone’s property is one of the most important responsibilities that comes with running a home service business.

Trying to describe a dog in only one word is harder than it sounds.

Dogs can be loyal, goofy, stubborn, protective, affectionate, energetic, dramatic, intelligent, or completely unpredictable. Most of them are several of those things at the same time.

The word I would use for my dog is:

Loyal.

That one word represents the companionship, trust, and connection that make dogs such an important part of our families.

Most customers do not hire a scooping service because they are incapable of cleaning their own yard.

They hire one because they already have enough responsibilities competing for their time.

One customer explained that between working full-time, caring for the family, and managing multiple dogs, the yard kept becoming a second thought. The longer it was delayed, the more overwhelming it became.

Once recurring service began, it became one less responsibility hanging over them.

That is the real value of this service. It is not only about removing dog waste. It is about giving people some of their time back, keeping the yard usable for their dogs, and removing an unpleasant chore from an already full schedule.

Sometimes making life easier begins with taking one small responsibility off the list.

Knowing who is entering your yard is an important part of hiring any home service company.

We Scoop Your Poo is a small, family-run business. Customers are not dealing with a constantly changing group of unfamiliar workers. I personally oversee the service, the standards, and the people trusted to represent the company.

Anyone entering a customer’s property needs to be dependable, respectful, comfortable around dogs, careful with gates, and trustworthy around someone’s home and family.

Background checks and proper screening are important, but trust also comes from training, accountability, communication, and knowing exactly who is responsible for the work being performed.

Customers deserve to feel comfortable with the person entering their property!

One of the most common things customers tell me is that they are embarrassed about the condition of their yard.

There is nothing to be embarrassed about.

People work long hours, raise families, manage appointments, deal with health problems, and care for multiple animals. Yard cleanup gets delayed for a few days, then the weather gets bad, another week passes, and suddenly the job feels overwhelming.

It happens far more often than most people realize.

I am not there to judge how the yard became messy. I am there to clean it, help get things under control, and make it easier to keep it that way.

I have worked in yards of all sizes and conditions. A yard that has fallen behind is simply a yard that needs some help.

This morning, one of my longest-standing clients called me.

She was incredibly sick. Her doctor had prescribed medication that needed to be started right away, but she couldn’t even leave the house to pick it up. She told me she didn’t have anyone she could call.

She asked if I would pick up her prescription on my way to walk her dogs that afternoon. She even offered to pay me $30 for the favor.

The pharmacy happened to be about seven minutes away from where I was, so I told her to save her money. I’d be happy to do it.

Moments like this remind me that what I do has never really been about dog p**p.

Over time, something interesting happens. I see my clients every week. I get to know their dogs, their routines, and often their families. They trust me with their yards, their homes, and the animals they love most. Eventually, I’m not just the guy who scoops the yard anymore. I’m someone they know they can call when life throws them a curveball.

No business can promise to solve every problem. But I do hope every client knows this:

If I can help, I will.

That’s the kind of business I’ve always wanted to build.

Not the biggest.

Just one that genuinely cares about the people and dogs it serves.
