February is National Spay/Neuter awareness month!

Why is this awareness so important?
Many pet owners don’t take their pets to be spayed or neutered because they feel like they are hurting their pets. In many cases, these dogs and cats will go on to parent litters of new kittens and puppies that inevitably contribute to the overpopulation and homelessness problem of dogs and cats in the United States.

🐱🐶Spay / Neuter Awareness Month is a time to remind all pet owners that spaying and neutering are in the best interest of all animals.

Keep watch for spay and neuter facts!!

We're Feline the connection 💕

Today is National Black Dog Day. Save-A-Mutt has great success adopting out black dogs - and cats - but many black dogs sit in shelters, unadopted. They require some special photo taking to make sure the sweetness shines through.

Our crate program has been an important part in helping the homeless. We offer these crates to shelters so the homeless can move into a shelter, get assistance and keep their pet close by. Call your local homeless shelters to let them know we will directly ship them crates. The shelter can then keep these crates for future use to help more homeless and their pets.

Our Story

Welcome to the Veterinary Clinic at Donna Hanson Haven. We are a nonprofit clinic, offering basic services such as physical examinations, vaccinations, deworming, and treatment of minor conditions for pets of homeless and low-income clients. We operate solely on donations and rely on them to continue providing services.

Our policies are as follows:

We are open the first three Wednesdays of each month. We are generally only able to see 15 animals each week, limit of two per household. Pets will be seen on a first come, first served basis starting at 8:30 a.m. At times, we may allow ill or injured animals to be seen before healthy animals, regardless of order of arrival. Please do not arrive at Donna Hanson Haven before 8:00 a.m.

Catholic Charities has generously given us space in which to provide this service. Please be respectful to the staff and residents of Donna Hanson Haven. We ask that you refrain from loud conversation or music and clean up after your pets and yourself.
