Charlie Brown: Dancing His Way Into Their Hearts
This is one of my favorite success stories.
I got a call last week from a previous training client. I was a little worried when I answered the phone.
Let’s go back almost 1 year ago. In early June 2022 I got a frantic message from a potential training client. Help! I just adopted a 1.3 year old Pit/Shepherd mix. He is strong and large. Need help as soon as possible, he jumps up and mouths my head. I went out to meet them the very next day.
Charlie was young, big(about 75lbs.),very excitable, no manners, and very friendly. As friendly as he was it was a bit scary when he would jump up and try to mouth her head. He needed training immediately.
I started working with Charlie the very next day. Charlie was making great progress in his training. However he was finding all kinds of mischief to get into when in his very large yard. We had to introduced him to crate training so he could be in a safe place at night. His new mom followed all of the instructions very closely. She worked with him every day, but still about half way through the training there were doubts. He was very strong and had knocked her down and tripped her up. She continued on and finished the six week program and then enrolled him in a class. By the end of class things were getting much better but there were still concerns of him hurting his mom by pulling her down or tripping her while on a walk or just knocking her over. No aggression just a big bouncy strong boy.
Back to last weeks call. The call was to ask me if I could pet sit with Charlie when they go out of town.I hadn’t seen Charlie for 6 months,so I stopped by for a quick visit and get updated on how things were going. The report was great, Charlie is doing awesome!
“Charlie is a member of our family”, “Charlie is becoming the best dog”.
One of the things they enjoy doing is putting on some music and dancing in their family room and Charlie loves to join in too. They shared this video with me and gave me permission to put it on my page.
I love what I do. Helping to keep peoples dogs “Active, Healthy & Happy”.
If you need help with your furry friends message me.
