In New York City, a man named Bryan Reisberg has found a beautifully simple way to help shelter dogs get noticed and adopted.

Each week, he visits local shelters and selects a dog that could use a little extra attention. Instead of leaving them behind kennel bars, he places them in a cheerful backpack labeled “Adopt Me” and takes them out into the city. The dogs ride the subway, walk through parks, pass busy cafés, and experience everyday life alongside him.

Once outside, the dogs finally get to be seen. Strangers stop to smile, ask about them, take photos, and hear their stories. And the impact has been real. Many of the dogs Bryan brings out go on to find loving homes.
