A reminder that with the weather forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday- in Michigan specifically- where we are going to be having wind chill temperatures as low as -20 you don’t want to let your dogs stay outside for longer than it takes for them to go potty.

Doodles shed (lose hair) and there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog. Any breeder who tells you different is lying (unless it’s a hairless dog and even then I’m not sure).

I didn’t brush Lilibet before her bath today and she lost hair all over the bathroom. The tub was full of hair since it was being washed off or hair she rubbed all over the outside of the tub, walls, counter and got on the floor.

But she’s now clean and smells good! And she will probably get a haircut soon. Her feet amazingly look goofy first but she’s becoming a shaggy girl

It’s winter, even though some days Michigan doesn’t agree. Remember that even if your dog likes to play in the snow they can’t stay out very long if it’s really cold *cough cough Lucy cough cough*.

Meta has been going though breeder pages and flagging posts going back years they see as violating community standards - even though our posts do no violate standards. Recently our video with Lilibet, Duke, Goose, and Charley as babies and then 2 years old was deleted. I appealed and Meta upheld their decision.

Other breeders have had as many as 10 posts removed, their pages removed, and personal profiles restricted.

Little Goose is a bee, Lilibet is a princess (just like the real Princess Lilibet), and Lilac is a sunflower. Lucy is supposed to be a ghost but it’s windy and her costume kept blowing off.

Halloween - my favorite holiday- is in 2 days. Make sure your dogs are ready. If they get overwhelmed by the visitors put them in their crate. My dogs will be crated (they get upset that the visitors aren’t actually there for them). We have crate covers and Alexa plays them music.

Be mindful of decorations that could be scary for dogs if you are taking your dog out trick-or-treating with you.

Keep candy out of reach of dogs. Chocolate (theobromine) is toxic to dogs because they can’t metabolize it well. Raisins are toxic to dogs - they come from grapes. Some candy can contain xylitol, which is very harmful to dogs.

If your dog chews a glow stick, Halloween decoration, battery, or other costume piece or accessory that can cause illness or choking, or internal injury.

We found out today at our X-ray that Lucy is not pregnant and is experiencing a phantom pregnancy. This happens when the dog has a heat cycle and is bred or not bred and has all the same symptoms as a dog that is pregnant. The hormones from the heat cycle trick her.

I was planning on retiring Lucy after this litter since Lilac and Lilibet are ready to begin breeding. I’m not sure if I will still do that.

Lilibet will be going into heat in a few months and she will be bred with a mini bernedoodle.

Happy 2nd birthday Lilibet and Little Goose (and Charley and Duke)!! Lilibet and Goose had their own treats, they just got the same color 😊

This is the point in Lucy’s pregnancy where she will refuse to eat her kibble and we cook for her.

She loves to eat chicken, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and peas. Will we also sometimes add hard boiled eggs - she gets a little picky about those and will eat the whites but leave the yolks but she does eventually eat them. We also add carrots.

She also gets snacks of peanut butter, apple, and banana. She prefers apple over banana though.

Lucy continues to eat this until puppies are a few weeks old.

My new Puppy Surprise had 3 puppies. Lucy is most likely going to have 4 puppies. Lucy is currently about 28 days pregnant.

The puppies aren’t big enough yet to try to count them by heartbeats on the Doppler. Lucy will have her xray to check how many puppies are in there around day 55 or about October 1st.

The puppies are due about October 9th.

Lucy has “cloned” herself with each litter. Little Goose in the first litter, Bowser in the second, and Remi in the third.

She is currently with our new stud Oliver - Koa and his family moved out of state. We will see if she continues “cloning” herself with this next litter.
