Today I went to see a sweet little dog.
He has a a bite history.
His parents were looking for a solution and found a “trainer “who put a shock collar on this little dog.
What they found was that things got worse.
I see quite a few dogs like this every week. Sometimes I just can’t sleep at night.
If a dog is afraid of a person or a dog or anything at all, and then you shock him or jerk a prong collar, guess what? You have shown that dog that he was right to be afraid.
Many Dog shut down. They don’t smile their head is low. Their tail is low. This “trainer “proclaims them “fixed “ and points out their fabulous behavior. 
I know that the poor dog is shut down.
The dog feels as though he is not heard when he says he is afraid and if he tries to explain or say stay away the best that he can he gets pain.
There’s nothing else to do, but go on with this very hard life, full of torture or the promise of being tortured.
Some dogs don’t shut down.
Some dogs see that they were correct to be afraid and that they better get that other dog or person before they feel the pain that they always feel when they try their best to say stay away.
Either way it’s not a kind life, to say the least. 😞
“Trainers” say that this kind of tool gives a dog confidence as now he knows exactly what you want him to do as he goes through life.
The people I saw today told me that their trainer told them that they weren’t doing it consistently or hard enough and that’s why it wasn’t working.
Let’s talk about that. Going through life with the person who is supposed to have your back, causing you consistent pain.
I’m sure that I would lose my mind and go insane.
These nice people that I saw today, knew that it wasn’t working. They reached out to someone who does board and train. They asked him his methods. He answered methods that will work for you.
Believe it or not when they went to meet him at the address that he had given, they showed up to a parking lot.
This large man who had a large vehicle with tinted windows actually told them that he does not give out his address in case people want their dog back before the two weeks are up!!!!
He told him that the charge was complete and he would now take their dear 3 year old
So hard to comprehend that so many people willingly gave their dog to this man without knowing where the dog was going. Only knowing that he would meet them in two weeks back in the parking lot.
I looked him up. He has 19 reviews all five star.
He had pictures up of the dogs.
I cried in my car.
Not one of the faces of these dogs were smiling
There eyes were terrified and full of fear and a sort of pleading apprehension.

When it became illegal to beat your wife or your child, shouldn’t dogs have fallen into that category?
I suppose shocking your dog or jerking a prong collar around their sensitive neck, which sometimes leaves holes which nobody sees because of the fur, covering it, is not beating.
For those of you who respond that there are also farm animals and others not treated well. I know. And I hate that too.
Today I’m talking about the dogs.

How in this day and age does this go on?
Humans… Barbarism left and right.
Those who cause animals, pain are cruel and unethical and the very worst bullies to walk the Earth.
