IMPORTANT NEWS. An immediate halt on equine exports to Mexico due to the New World screwworm situation has been issued by APHIS.

The suspension includes horses exported for slaughter, breeding, work, sport, exhibition, and transit purposes.

While the duration of this measure remains unknown, it means that horses cannot currently be exported from the United States to Mexico through these channels. APHIS has not yet provided a timetable for resumption.

We will share updates as additional information becomes available.

As The Wild Beauty Foundation continues to fight for passage of the SAFE Act, including helping advance core protections through the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee alongside our partners, this development underscores an important reality: the horse slaughter pipeline can be stopped, should be stopped, and must be stopped.

Bert Rutten words of wisdom: read what he said about dressage in his years at the top - pic is the Dutch star, Coby van Baalen, with Ferro 1988:
“When you look now it is getting more and more difficult to make the dressage horse better every generation. And what you want is more talent for piaffe, more talent for passage, for the specifics of dressage, not only the movement. What we want now is horses with an easy canter, for easy changes, easy pirouettes, that really can sit on the hind leg, that can collect in an easy way. Like I said in the conference, almost with a loose rein, we have to get away from riding horses under pressure.”
