7 weeks postop and her arm is going much higher than before her shoulder replacement.

Saturday Short Story: Grateful Hearts
Diesel sat quietly beneath the morning sky, the world still wrapped in that gentle hush before the day fully wakes. One by one, his friends gathered around him, Luna with her calm presence, Otter always close, Dug steady and loyal, Skye bright as hope, Tonka strong and watchful, and Precious, whose name matched her soul.
They didn’t need words. They never did.

Diesel looked at them and felt it, gratitude. Not the loud kind, but the deep kind that settles in your chest and reminds you that you are never truly alone. Gratitude for shared paths, muddy paws, quiet comfort, and the kind of friendship that shows up without being asked.

Luna nudged him gently, as if to say we’re here. Otter leaned in closer, warmth speaking louder than sound. Dug stood firm, a reminder that strength can be soft.
Skye lifted her head toward the light, believing in tomorrow. Tonka watched over them all, steady and sure. Precious curled in, love wrapped in fur. In that moment, Diesel understood something simple and powerful, gratitude isn’t about having everything, it’s about appreciating who walks beside you while you have it. Their hearts beat together, different stories, one bond. And that was more than enough.
