Wonderful Wednesday 💕

Today, we are celebrating four our dogs finding their forever homes!

- Indie went to Canada where she found her new family!
- Bandit was adopted through our rescue partners in NC!
- Bird and Snoop were adopted through our rescue partners in IL!

- 7 months old
-about 30 pounds
- kennel trained (lays down in his kennel as soon as he goes in)

Earlier this week, we posted about three pups we brought into our rescue from a cruelty case. They have all settled into their foster homes and are learning what it is like to be loved. Despite their past they are all very sweet. Today, we got their bill in after all the charges were placed and it is $372. We need your help covering this cost. It is only the start of the vet care they will need as we get them healthy. If 75 of our followers donated $5 we could cover this! Can you spare $5 today to help these pups and our rescue out?

Last week we posted about an 18-dog cruelty case. Well on Monday, we were able to welcome 3 of the babies into the rescue!

So meet Sloane, Storme, and Slate!

They had their initial vet visits on Monday and Tuesday. They are estimated to be about 2 years old. Thankfully all 3 are heartworm negative, but will be retested in 6 months just to be sure. All their fecals were negative as well, but they were dewormed just to be safe.

Aside from being very emaciated and filthy, our vet said they are in decent health. But Sloane does have such bad urine scalding on her feet that they were raw and bleeding, so she was placed on antibiotics.

They are all settling into their foster homes, have had much needed baths and nail trims, and have been placed on a strict feeding schedule. Due to how emaciated they are, they have to be fed small amounts throughout the day so that they do not get refeeding syndrome.

Despite the life they came from these babies are sweet as can be and want nothing more than just to be loved!

We are so happy that we were able to help these babies, but it was only possible because we had people step up to foster some of our other babies to make room for our medical fosters to take these three.

Three lives saved because of fosters! This is why fostering is such an important part of rescue!

🌟 Spotlight Sunday

Meet Gru!

Let us tell you some facts about him!

1. He is 5 years old and about 45 pounds
2. He is dog and kid friendly
3. He needs home without cats
4. He loves his humans hard
5. He is kennel trained and sleeps through the night in it
6. He has been in rescue/shelter for 4 years waiting for his home
7. He can be little anxious when meeting men for first time but did great at adoption event recently
8. Tested positive for heartworms but has been treated
9. Has been a perfect foster dog so far in his current home.

Yesterday we received a message from one of our shelter partners that they were getting in 18 dogs from a cruelty case. We didn’t know exactly what we were looking at until we got the pictures and our hearts broke.

Eighteen dogs all skin and bones, missing hair, and terrified. Their eyes pleading for help.

We sat and stared at the photos and cried, thinking how can we say no?

But the problem is, we can’t say yes without fosters. We have no where for these dogs to go. Another rescue was able to step up and take 2 dogs, but that leaves 16 left needing help.

So we need fosters NOW.

Even if you are not comfortable taking in a medical case like these babies, we have other dogs that can be moved to new fosters to free up space for our medical fosters to take them.

We understand that fostering can be difficult, but it can also be one of the most rewarding things you can ever do. We know that it’s hard to say goodbye once it’s time for fosters to leave for their new homes, but it’s so much better than the fate these dogs will face instead.

🚨 ATTENTION: WE HAVE A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION🚨

Apparently, a paper bag has entered the premises. 🛍️😳

And Cola has decided that he is personally responsible for protecting everyone from this extremely suspicious, highly dangerous, absolutely terrifying piece of paper. 😂

The growling.
The staring.
The complete lack of trust.

Sir… it’s a BAG. 🤣🤣

But honestly, we kind of love a boy who takes his security duties seriously. ❤️🐶

When he’s not bravely defending the household from rogue paper products, Cola is looking for something much more important:

Someone who will appreciate his big personality, his hilarious antics, and his adorable little “I MUST PROTECT YOU FROM THIS BAG” moments. 😂

$10 Tuesday

Three weeks ago this sweet mama and her three babies were dumped in Salem. Their finder has been taking amazing care of them, and yesterday we were able to officially welcome them into the rescue!

So meet Mama Terra and her three babies, Crystal, Geo, and Rocky!

Terra is about 3 years old and the pups are around 13 weeks old. Yesterday all four got a full workup at our vet.

They are all riddled with worms, mama and the two boys have ear infections, and mama has both skin and eye infections. Mama is also about 10lbs underweight, but thankfully she is heartworm NEGATIVE! Everyone also got their rabies vaccine, first round of vaccines, microchipped, and started on preventions.

They were all sent home with a slew of medications. So over the next few weeks, we will focus on getting them healthy and learning more about their personalities.

We are so grateful that their finder is able to foster them, as that is the only way we were able to take them in. We cannot continue to save dogs without fosters!

Now here is the part where you all come in! With the exams, vaccines, tests, and all the medications, this visit came out to be $900. So we now need your help to raise the money to cover the cost!
