KRPetz - Working K9s

KRPetz - Working K9s Hi, welcome to KRPetz - Working K9's. We started out as KRPetz, a pet-sitting company back in 1992. In 1997 we moved to Ohio and became KRPetz - Omega Refuge.

Photography We had a small group of people whom needed their dogs taken out in the middle of the day, due to our lovely DC traffic and being away from their homes for long hours each day. We specialized in rescuing the wolf and wolf

hybrid. In 2000 we branched off to KRPetz - Omega Refuge & Working K9's, where we not only continued rescuing wolf hybrds but also branched off into the hard to handle dog, mainly German Shepherds and Malinois. Dogs that were either too aggressive for their owners to handle, too aggressive for a shelter to place, or were just too high drive for the normal home. The dogs would then be trained and given a job to do, mainly police work or SAR. In 2004 we relocated back to VA and became KRPetz - Working K9's, concentrating more on training dogs then rescuing them. We still help out when needed with rescues, but are no longer as active as we used to be. We continue to specialize in the hard to handle dog, and continue to train dogs in sport and protection/police work. We have now added photography to the mix, specializing in working dog event action photos, but also pet portraits as well. The owner is a certified K9 Handler/Trainer. She currently owns 2 working Dutch Shepherds. She has been working with dogs most of her life, specializing in aggressive and hard to handle animals, and has owned and trained many dogs in her life. She has rescued dogs for close to 35 years and has helped with the rescue of horses. She LOVES Animals.(esp. wolves, dogs, & horses.) and has owned several police trained K9's, as well as many different breeds of dogs, and a few horses.

Meet Cash, a spirited four-year-old German Shepherd from Ashburn, VA. Cash is a high-energy, loving dog who thrives on activity and companionship.

Cash has mastered all of his basic commands but does need some additional leash training. He is vaccinated, house-trained, and crate-trained, making him a well-prepared addition to any family. However, he is not neutered.

Although Cash has not had enough interactions with other dogs or cats to determine his compatibility, his playful and loyal nature suggests that with proper introductions, he could adapt well.

Due to a change in lifestyle, he can no longer receive the active life he needs. His ideal family would be one that can keep up with his high energy levels and provide him with plenty of exercise and companionship. If you think you could be the right fit for Cash, please reach out. Your interest means the world to him!

Forever Home for Cobalt

Extremely sweet and handsome Anatolian/lab mix shelter foster looking for his forever home. Other than guessing “Cobalt” is less than 2yrs old, he is neutered, house, crate and kennel trained, knows commands sit and lay down but needs work on recall. He’s great on a leash and would benefit from continued work because once he gets up to weight he will be a strong big boy. He’s good with small kids, his obnoxious foster puppy and other dog friends. He desperately wants to play, snuggle, and be loved. His personality is that of a sweet, silly very large puppy.

His quirks: he needs a home with a tall fenced yard without cats or farm animals. He needs continued training, especially recall, which he has none of currently. Because he is so tall and young, he still needs reminders to leave things alone on the kitchen counters… we’re working on drop it. He only barks to remind you to let him in or out.

This boy needs a loving home with training and a strong person to walk with. He’s being fostered on a horse farm in Berryville, VA. Homes and families will be vetted. Adoption fee is $250.
