I've been using this amazing product more and more lately as the dewy wet grass has been wreaking havoc on hoof walls lately. Red Mares Hoof Butter has been a game changer for hooves having troubles handling the wet thanks to the bees wax that seals the hoof. Hoof butter has also helped with the hoof wall fungus and in some cases helped to prevent thrush. Plus how do you pass up beautiful shiny hoof walls done with natural ingredients?!?!?

Just a reminder that I am out if town today until Monday for our annual Advanced Practitioners Clinic with Ida Hammer. This boy has been in glue on shoes for 5 years straight and his hoof walls are just as lovely today as they were when we met.

Do glue on shoes destroy the hoof wall? No.

When I see damage to hoof wall under glue on shoes there is usually a reason beyond the fault of the glue itself. Often it’s a diet lacking in proper minerals enabling the horse to grow strong and healthy hoof walls to begin with.

Fabulous example of the difference in "flexibility" of a steel shoe vs composite. I am not anti steel, I am anti caudal foot support. There are instances when horses need the stability of steel and other where they need the flexibility.

ProSix does it again! This sweet guy was struggling to get comfortable. He has been very braced in his body due to front hoof pain. After getting him comfortable in his feet I noticed he was still struggling in his body, so I pulled out my ProSix and allowed him to just stand in it at liberty. You can see in his pic(photos in comments) when I 1st put on the ProSix that his eyes are worried, lips are pierced, and nostrils are flared. Then he had some of the best releases(video) I've seen after about 10 min of just standing in the ProSix. This after pic you can see softer eyes, relaxed bottom lip, and resting nostrils. Thank you ProSix for helping this guy out! We will be using the ProSix during trims and composite resets.
