Happy birthday Dr. Hamilton! 🥳

Dr. Jessica Hamilton grew up in North Alabama and then moved to Athens, Georgia where she received her bachelor's degree in animal science at the University of Georgia. She continued her studies there in Athens and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Since that time Dr. Hamilton has practice veterinary medicine all over the Southeast in Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama. Since her first shift in 2014, Dr. Hamilton has loved working at the Animal Emergency Clinic and continues her work there even though she has now moved back to her hometown in Guntersville, Alabama.

When not at the Animal Emergency Clinic, you can find Dr. Hamilton on their 900-acre tree farm with her husband, Mark, and three boys: Wallace, Silas and Thatcher. They have 29 chickens, 7 dogs, 4 goats, one cat and plenty of wildlife that keeps them busy. When not enjoying farm life and the outdoors, the Hamiltons can be found travelling. They have completed tours of the Southwest and the Northwest of the United States and have a month-long trip to Europe in the works.

Meet Dr. Kyle Pate! 🐾

We are thrilled to have Dr. Pate as part of our team!

Doctor Pate grew up in Ruston, Louisiana, and completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana Tech University before earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from LSU. He has a passion for veterinary medicine because it allows him to help both pets and the people who love them, and he values being part of that bond.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoys working on his drag racing car and traveling whenever he can. At home, he shares his life with one pet a retired racing greyhound he rescued.

- Candy wrappers 🍬can cause obstructions
- Xylitol, a sugar substitute found in sugar free candy, is toxic to dogs and cats
