Reins of Rhythm has released their next series of Trail Ride Adventures book for JULY. FREEDOM TRAIL RIDE ADVENTURES! These 1-hour private riding and horsemanship lessons provide youth ages 4-18 with an opportunity to learn about horses and enjoy a themed trail ride - bonus it is a one-time 1 on 1 lesson with an instructor with no obligation to commit for regular riding lessons.
Use the BOOKING FORM linked below you can register your child or a child in your life for a themed riding and horsemanship lesson that includes a FREEDOM TRAIL RIDE ADVENTURE!

Just as we promised....Camp Day Photos!!
These kiddos were a blast and had a blast! We are not sure who had more fun, the volunteers, the horses or the kids - ALL OF US!
From Rides, Ribbons, Races, and Riddles to Baths, Buckets, and Bundles of Fun this was one summer memory these kiddos will never forget!
Thanks to these campers for spending one of their summer days with us!

It’s camp day and we are ready to swing open the gates and welcome children to a super, fun-filled day of learning and playing with horses!
The great chore race complete with Horse Powered Reading and Math (so much fun they don't even know we are helping them keep up their academic skills over the summer), an equine escape room, water games, horse baths, and riding adventures!

Did you miss out on registration for this camp??? Don’t worry, there is another one in July, and we also have a private 4th of July themed trail ride adventure all summer long too!!!

Thanks to everyone who has reached out to check in on the ponies and horses in this intense heatwave 🥵🌞🕶️☀️
They are all holding up ok thanks to tender loving care!

Volunteers are checking in on the herd about every 2-3 hours. Providing fresh hydration, cooling mist and checking on their overall vitals and condition and they are provided with large fans which helps move the air.

We have three volunteers rotating throughout the day to maintain paddock clean up, water refills and hay refills to help limit how much time each are being exposed to the conditions while doing heavy work.

Kicking off summer in the month of June, riders learned lots about important horse health through fun hands on learning! This included how to take vital signs, the importance of hydration, and making “wanted posters” for the parasites that can attack our ponies (and how to get rid of and prevent them), and so much more...

During riding time, more experienced riders dove into advancing refinement of skills such as posting trot, which is one of the most challenging things for young riders to learn and instructors to teach. Posting is a riding technique where the rider rises out of the saddle and sits down in a rhythmic, synchronized motion with the horse's leg movement. This makes the trot more comfortable for both horse and rider (the trot can be pretty bouncy!)

Our beginner riders worked on skills to control their horses speed and to do transitions (any change of speed) as they work towards their independence on horseback. Learning transitions takes focus, refined communication and many small steps to achieve this skill!

When planning lessons, instructors taylor their plan to adapt the lesson plan and riding skill they are going to teach, making it attainable for a wide range of students, diagnosis, and learning styles!

Did you know there are 4 different learning styles?

Each learning style must be identified and teaching adapted; if you aren’t being taught with your learning style in mind it makes it very hard to learn and retain.

That will include changing the way a skill is presented: including hands on activities, instructor showing a pattern/ demonstrating a skill, explaining it step by step, or using your hand to guide riders hand.

This is just one aspect that goes into each lesson plan that is taught each week!
