Story: I’ll never forget this moment.
A brown pit bull, soaked and shaking, wrapped his muddy paws around my leg like it was the only safe place left in the world.

It was during a flood rescue. The water had swallowed everything—streets, homes, even hope. And then, through the chaos, I saw him. Standing alone, chest-deep in the freezing water. His eyes met mine, and it felt like time stopped.

He didn’t bark. He didn’t growl. He just looked—a look that said, “Please… don’t leave me.”

I knelt down and reached out slowly. He hesitated for just a second… and then lunged forward, pressing himself against me, holding on like he’d finally found solid ground again. His body trembled against mine, cold and terrified—but there was trust there. A fragile, desperate kind of trust.

When we got him onto the rescue raft, he still wouldn’t let go. Even on dry land, his paw stayed glued to my leg, as if letting go might make everything disappear again. I whispered to him, “You’re safe now, buddy. You’re safe.”

No one came looking for him. Maybe he had a family once. Maybe he was abandoned. I’ll never know. But from that day on, he became part of mine.

I named him Diesel.
And Diesel never leaves my side. He sleeps by my bed, walks by my heel, and sometimes—just sometimes—he’ll rest his paw on my leg like he did that first day. Like he’s making sure I’m still there.

People say I rescued him. But if I’m honest… Diesel rescued me, too. ❤️🐶

We have a tough update to share…I’ve been sitting with this information all morning trying to figure out what to do and what to say.
Here is the update from my husband who was able to accompany Bear to his appointment:
“So some not good greats news from Bears follow up visit today. Unfortunately Bears hip has luxated and is back in the position it was prior to surgery.
Dr Eby said it seems as though his skeletal and muscular structure forced his hip out of the socket and back to where he knew it to be comfortable. Good news is he is not any worse off today than he was before the surgery but not the results we were hoping for. He’s still pretty drowsy from being sedated but he is a trooper.”
This is such a hard pill to swallow - we have many things we need to discuss and figure out to see where we go from here.
We could use all the good vibes and positive thoughts right now ❤️

D**g Thap is a 3 hour drive out of Saigon. It's a province of the Mekong Delta.
The case is going to court. We'll update more when police release more information.

This stray dog… 🐕
He looked exhausted and painfully hungry — no one to care for him, no proper food to eat. The only thing he could do was rummage through garbage piles along the roadside, hoping to find a scrap of food just to survive. But even then, what he found was never truly edible…
He bent down to lick from a puddle of dirty, stagnant water — mixed with grime and rotting trash 🥀. The stench was awful, yet he had no choice. Hunger pushed harder than disgust ever could. Florida Man Saves Dog from Alligator Attack After Teens Throw It in Lake. A shocking viral video out of Florida shows the moment a man dove into a lake to save a dog after a group of high schoolers threw it into the water.
The man said he first noticed the group grabbing and holding down the dog, as if they were carrying it somewhere. He went over to intervene, and that’s when they suddenly tossed the animal into the lake. Almost instantly, an alligator lunged at the struggling dog.
Without hesitation, the man sprinted in and yanked the dog from the gator’s jaws. “When I saw that gator snap at him, all I could think about was my own dog at home.” The teens scattered as the man got the dog to safety. “Those kids were lucky they ran,” he added. “When I was done with the alligator, I was about to turn my attention to them.
