📢 HOLIDAY HOURS + SAFETY REMINDER 📢

4th of July Safety Tips:
ID = LIFE: Collar with current contact info on every pet. Fireworks spook even the calmest dogs. If they get separated, ID gets them home fast
Fireworks = Fear: They don’t understand the booms + flashes. It’s terrifying for them. Keep them inside, away from doors/windows
Heat + Paws: It’s still 100+ degrees. Keep them off hot pavement, inside with AC, water + shade always
Safe space: Create a quiet room with their bed, toys, and maybe white noise/TV to drown out the noise

Fireworks are fun for us. For them, it’s chaos. It’s up to US to protect them 💛

If your pet is lost, check our page when we reopen Monday 7/6. And if you see a pet in danger, say something. Be their voice.

100+ DEGREES TODAY!!! IT WILL KILL.

Listen up, Shelbyville:

DOG HOUSES IN THE SUN = DEATH CHAMBERS
Plastic, metal, wood – doesn’t matter. Direct sun turns them into ovens. Your dog cannot sweat. They cannot escape. They will cook alive while tied to a chain. If there’s no shade, bring them inside. Period.

WATER + SHADE = LIFE
Puppies + senior dogs die in minutes from heat stroke. No water. No shade. No second chances. Refresh bowls. Add ice. Move them out of the sun NOW.

HOT PAVEMENT = BURNED PAWS
Do NOT walk them on hot pavement! If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for their paws. Test it with your hand for 5 seconds. If you can’t hold it, they can’t walk it. Walk early morning or late night only. Burns happen fast.

HOT CARS = OVEN DOORS
“Just 5 minutes” kills. Windows cracked does nothing. 100° outside = 140° inside in 10 minutes. IF YOU’RE GASPING FOR AIR, SO ARE THEY. Take them with you or leave them home with AC. No exceptions.

SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING
We can’t see every yard, every car. But you can. If a pet is suffering, call us. Call animal control. Call 911. Be their voice when they have none!

Fur babies die from no shade and no water. They depend on YOU to think when it’s 100°. Don’t fail them.

Keep them inside. Keep them safe. Keep them alive ❤️
