These are the Blue Salmon Faverolles I purchased from Sand Hill Preservation Center. I do have another order of 10 more of this breed coming, but they haven’t shipped yet.

I’ve been around chickens all my life, but every breed is different. From the research I’ve done, I think all four of these are girls. One is almost pure white, which could be a color flaw, but it might make for an interesting project down the road.

If anyone is familiar with this breed, I’d love to hear your thoughts. They’re around 5 weeks old.

I haven’t posted an update on our Buff Zombie project girls in about 6 weeks, and they sure have grown!

These are my oldest two girls from this cross (Buff Leghorn × Ayam), hatched on 2/18, which puts them at a little over 3 months old.

They’re still feathering out some around the neck, no doubt from the Ayam side.

We had some Polish babes leave us for Kodak this morning! In the last week, we’ve also had some head to West Knoxville and Maryville.

Over the last week, we’ve sent hatching eggs to Louisiana, New York, Texas, Arizona, Virginia, Michigan, and North Carolina!

We still have many White Crested and a few Buff Laced and Tolbunt chicks looking for new brooders.

This lady hatched in March and is the oldest of this year’s Buff Leghorns. Considering she’s been running around with all the other grow-outs, I think she has a ton of potential!

I bought 5 straight run Silver Appenzeller Spitz at the end of February thinking they’d probably be male heavy, but it turns out only one is! This guy is our future breeder for the ladies, and once he matures we’ll be able to offer them again.

Finding out our three-year-old Silver Spitz lost fertility this year definitely threw a wrench in the plans. I’ve hesitated posting this guy because it feels like sometimes when you show favoritism, those are the ones predators want most and since I don’t have any backups right now, that would be rough. 🫣
