💥 2nd Annual Central WA Shootout 💥

Boy do we have some exciting things planned for yall!
3 weeks out & getting things ready for what’s going to be an AMAZING shooting weekend! 😋

Saturday we have a special catered dinner, brought to you by 3 R’s BBQ, for our shooters as a gift for spending your weekend at our ranch. One of our amazing local bands, “xyzandtheboomers” will start the dance party right after dinner, so bring your dancing shoes!

Our sponsors have really upped their game this year as we have $15,000 added to our shoot! Every class will have added money (shotgun, rifle, CS, Senior Sidepot). That means, our main match will be paying out about $4700 PER STAGE!!!! Not only do we have incredible payout, but our prizes & awards are also top notch- Built by Daniel. 😏

Hungry? Order up some tacos or Mexican dishes with our awesome taco truck Tacos Don Chayo! Breakfast (Saturday only) will be served by 3 R’s BBQ starting at 7am.
Thirsty? Stay hydrated & energized with our local coffee stand High Country Coffee Co. as they will be set up in the morning-1.

Be sure to smile for the camera as we will have Spirit of a Cowboy Images as our main photographer & Ben Ricard behind the video, so reels will also be available for purchase.

Idaho State Championships 2026 ⭐️
New venue, new memories, new hardware… 🤣
Callie being the rockstar she is took good care of her mama & her mini cowgirl! We won our Ladies 5 class with a buckle & 5th overall with a miss, while Addie won her limited wrangler class earning her 2nd buckle! 🩷
This is something I’ve dreamt about since I was young so to watch my little one grow a love & bond with this animal (that I am bonded with) is pretty amazing. Trips with Addie make this sport a lot more special.

Great job Northwest Mounted Shooters for a phenomenal shoot & congrats to all the winners! 9 ladies in the top 10! 👏🏼

Two weeks of shooting shenanigans! 🤣

The Washington State championships in Cashmere didn’t go as planned for me but that’s okay because Addie was the star of the show anyways. Callie carried Addie safely through 5 stages for her first ever CMSA shoot! Thank you Eastern Washington Mounted Shooters for her buckle, she still carries it around everywhere she goes! 🥰

Last weekend, I had some better luck. Prineville is a special place to me and this year we got to take home the Oregon State Champion Title! 🤩 Ladies 5 winner, Ladies Overall, High Overall & clean shooter. Callie gave me a flawless weekend as she typically does & miss Paisley got to shine a little as she was entered in time onlys all weekend. Some major break throughs with her 🩷

Next up.. Idaho State Championships in 2 weeks! Get signed up if you haven’t yet!

Bluff 💙
9 YO Appendix Gelding

This handsome fella has been waiting 2 years for training w us! Bluffy is owned by a local gal wanting to get her start in shooting & competitive riding. They’ve been to a few shooting clinics in the past and seems to not mind the gunfire but more so needs work on fundamentals & dry work: soft in the bridle, quick & responsive w transitions/leg pressure, patterning, etc.

In just 3 weeks of being here, we’ve seen so much growth & change in Bluff that he most likely will get to go home early! 🤩 We will start adding weekly lessons with his rider so I can transfer all Bluff’s new knowledge to her. (Lessons are so important with your trainer!!! Can’t stress this enough.)

Consistency is what turns efforts into results, so be consistent. 😏

My heart goes out to the horses involved but the owners too that have to experience this kind of trauma. This is a nightmare… I could not imagine. 💔
Hard enough keeping our animals safe from outside people but how do we keep them safe from other competitors?? 😵‍💫

An isolated incident was addressed immediately at the 2026 Official NBHA Las Vegas Super Show, and all appropriate steps have been taken to ensure the well being of all horses. We ask for respect and understanding for all involved during this sensitive time.

Royal 👑
3YO Mare

It’s year of the red horse! Which is fine with me… 😋
Miss Royal is a daughter of a horse I had 2 years ago in training so it’s special to have her here.
She had a good 90 day foundation put on by another trainer last fall but hasn’t been ridden since then. I’ve had Royal for about 2 weeks and she’s yielding to the rail, driving up into the bridle & holding her frame, picking up her leads first try & accepting anything (so far) I’m asking of her.

The end goal for Royal is to be an all around rodeo, trail, kids horse with a side of shooting. 😉
90 days of exposure & consistency, she will be ready to head home & be just that! 🩷

Paisley 🌼
8YO AQHA Mare

Miss Paisley is new to our sport but has dabbled in a few shooting clinics. She comes with great training so it shouldn’t take long to get to full patterns & Time Only’s. She’s been with me for a couple weeks and so far it’s just getting her back in shape & slowing down her pace a bit. I’m looking for a relaxed, loose rein type of pace to make for confident & smooth patterns. 😋

In this short time, she’s really melted under saddle & has grown confidence in unsure situations. I cannot wait to see how she forms in her 90 days of being at HH. This horse reminds me so much of my main girl, Callie. Heart & athleticism… 💜

A slightly different scene than what I’m used to, but always a good change up! Missed my shooters in Tenino this weekend but still found a way to do something horse related 🥰
We stayed local and took miss Juicy to her first schooling show; she just turned 3 so it’s her year to shine and get the attention she deserves.
She placed well in all her classes and finished 2nd in the Greenhorse highpoint! 🤩
Also found that Honey may be more than just a shooting horse… 😋 felt good stepping back into the jumping pen!

It’s been a long & pretty tough start to the year but things are looking up! Thank you to all who have checked in on us, your care means a lot. 💋
