Trips to the Ocean starting soon, trail rides through the cascades, finishing up horse shows, clinics and massage classes for kids coming up.

We have baby chicks hatching today! 🐣

Melina has unintentionally taken on the role of a neonatal chick nurse this week! She'll be pulling a late night as she keeps a close eye on the incubators. So far, 18 chicks have already hatched, and she's been carefully moving each one to our nursery with warm heat lamps, fresh food, and water. As of tonight, she's counted 11 more chicks beginning to break out of their shells!

It's been an exciting week watching new life arrive, and we can't wait for our campers to meet the newest members of the farm. 💛🐥

What an incredible day at the horse show!

One rider competed in her very first horse show and came home as Grand Champion!

Another horse-and-rider team competed in just their second show together and absolutely crushed it, earning two first-place finishes and another Grand Championship!

One partnership was truly tested today. Things didn't go exactly as planned, but that's what horse shows are all about—learning, growing, and becoming better horsemen. They pushed through the challenges, learned so much, rode with determination, and still came home with a placing.

Ribbons are exciting, but the greatest accomplishments are the confidence built, the lessons learned, and the partnership developed between horse and rider.

So proud of everyone's hard work, sportsmanship, and perseverance. We can't wait for the next show as we continue moving up and setting new goals!

NEW Youth Equine Body Care Clinic – Coming This August!

What if your child could learn to recognize when a horse is sore, understand how muscles affect movement, and discover simple techniques to help keep horses comfortable and performing their best?

We're excited to welcome Marissa from Smooth Moving Equine LLC for a unique, hands-on Youth Equine Body Care Clinic!

During this interactive clinic, students will learn:

✨ Basic equine anatomy and major muscle groups
✨ How to recognize signs of soreness and discomfort
✨ Proper grooming techniques that promote circulation and relaxation
✨ Safe, beginner-friendly massage techniques
✨ Simple stretching exercises that support healthy movement
✨ How to perform a basic body assessment on a horse

The second half of the clinic will be completely hands-on! Students will work in pairs with our horses while Marissa provides individual guidance every step of the way.

Each participant will also receive educational handouts to take home so they can continue practicing what they've learned.

This is an incredible opportunity for young horse lovers to gain a deeper understanding of equine wellness while building confidence and becoming better horsemen and horsewomen.

👥 Space will be limited to just 12 participants to ensure plenty of hands-on instruction.

Summer Camp Session 2 is officially underway, and what an incredible first day!

Today our campers had the opportunity to learn from our special guest watercolor artist, Renee. She taught the kids how to really see animals by studying their anatomy, shapes, and lines—and we even had a real horse model to inspire their artwork! The paintings they created were absolutely amazing.

Of course, farm life was in full swing too! Baby chicks are everywhere, and campers spent time meeting Norman the llama, our sheep, goats, and Baby Bear, our curious little cow. ❤️

The fun didn't stop there—we rode horses, bounced our way through the day, and cooled off on the water slide. There were smiles, laughter, and muddy boots everywhere... just the way summer camp should be!

If today was any indication, this is going to be an unforgettable week at Cougar Mountain Stables! 🐴🌈💦
