"Xylitol is a sugar alcohol present in sugar-free gum that, when ingested, causes a rapid release of insulin in dogs. After ingestion, clinically significant hypoglycemia can develop within 30 minutes and can last for more than 12 hours. Acute hepatic necrosis(liver damage) and failure after higher doses of xylitol ingestion can occur as well."(source: vetprep)

I LOVE UPDATES❣️ This adorable, beautiful, smiling girl tells me that her mom, Seattle Dogs, our vets Greenwood Animal Hospital and you, yes you are all doing an amazing job at making Lily a happy, healthy girl by making sure vet care was available to a dog in need❣️ Lily's mom is homeless, she was so worried about her girl getting pregnant that she reached out to us for help. We couldn't turn her away. We always try to utilize the other free programs avail to save costs but when the need is urgent and space or timing doesn't work elsewhere our amazing vets have always been open to us to ensure we are able to help control the pet population on our streets. We are truly blessed that during this entire pandemic Greenwood Animal Hospital has opened their doors, trained hands and flowing hearts to Seattle Dogs. We are grateful to them and to you for donating! Without your donations we wouldn't be able to have vet care, hundreds of dogs over the years would have produced hundreds of litters and our hearts would be broken but with your help girls like Lily are free to live healthy happy lives without fear of pregnancy or deadly diseases like pyometra! We are so excited to see Lily doing so well💌 Big thank you to Lily's mom for sending us this picture and update woohoo❣️ If you would like to donate here's a few ways You can donate directly to our vet by phone or in person M-F 9-5pm Greenwood Animal Hospital 206-528-3838 re Seattle Dogs C A S H A P P $seattledogs V E N M O @seattledogs PayPal.me/seattledogs Thank you 💜 💛 💜
🐾 UPDATE BOSS 🐾 Thanks to our amazing vets Greenwood Animal Hospital and to you all that donated Boss is at home resting, he is still hurting and swollen but doing better. Boss is just the nicest dog, honestly if you have ever met him you would know there isn't a mean bone in him, I can only imagine what he is thinking, why why would any dog ever want to hurt him?! I'm worried about the after effects, I can't imagine him being afraid or leary of dogs so I'm hopeful he will bounce back after such a event. Boss has experienced such loss, his sister Courage passed from cancer, then brother Axel from neurological disorders, then Gracie who was his camp mate for many many years, only Boss and Tiger are left out of that crew, these boys are both very special to us, I simply can't stand the mere thought of them being sad. 😢 All of these dogs mentioned have benefitted from our ability to offer vet care but we don't do this alone, you, your donations help save lives and help provide end of life care when necessary, without you dogs like Boss would suffer in silence, without you we wouldn't be able to help these animals live their best, their healthiest lives. Boss's dad Ken is extremely grateful for your help and sends his thanks! And we can't thank you enough for your support ❤️ To help us continue to offer vet care please consider a one time or monthly donation. We are listed with Benevity and a few other places incase your work has a charity program, check with them as they just might match your donation! You can donate in a variety of ways: 🐈 Directly to our vet by phone or in person Greenwood Animal Hospital 206-528-3838 🐕 ‍PayPal.me/seattledogs 🦮 v e n m o @seattledogs 🐇 c a s h a p p $seattledogs
Look who we ran into... Winter! OMG that sweet face! She's doing incredibly well, not to thrilled with the cone but otherwise she is back to being her healthy happy self. We along with Winters family send our thanks to A Dog's Dream Natural Pet Supply for donating the cone, to each of you that were able to donate, our partners at People for Animal Care & Kindness for covering the rest of the surgery cost and to our vets Greenwood Animal Hospital for saving Winter. Pyometra is a uterus disease that can happen when female dogs and cats aren't spayed. Personally I had only seen this in senior animals up until last year, now we are seeing it in animals that are younger, Winter is 4 yrs old. When Winter and her family stopped by to see us at NW Harvest S**O Food Bank the other day it made our day, she was able to get food, a toy, Earth Animal no hide. What a blessing to watch a dog grow and receive the love they deserve. We are thankful to be able to be there for Winter. She's been thru alot but easy days continue to be ahead for her. Being able to offer vet care is such an amazing feeling, many animals would not be alive today had we not been able to do this for them but we need your help to continue our life saving work, Donations are needed, your donations enable us to help homeless animals, animals like Winter. While we have vets that are giving and generous with not only their time but with discounts whenever possible in the end it's not free for us so your donations matter, they are truly needed. If you are able please give any amount. Here are a few ways you can donate ❤️ 🐈 by phone or in person directly to our vet Greenwood Animal Hospital 206-528-3838 re: Seattle Dogs 🐕‍PayPal.me/seattledogs 🦮v e n m o @seattledogs 🐇c a s h a p p $seattledogs
Can you help us help Lou? Lou is 4 years old, he has something going on with his eyes, it appears as if he is losing his sight. While we have him at the vet we are going to have him vaccinated and neutered. Will you help us? Whenever possible we utilize our partners at Seattle Humane to spay, neuter, vaccinate, they are wonderful and have been able to help several of our dogs, that said when ever we have certain situations we must take the opportunity to spay and neuter with our vet especially when their is a high risk of mating. With many vets not performing these services or having long wait times we are extremely grateful for our vets at Greenwood Animal Hospital their unwavering dedication to the animals we help is incredible. Please help if you can, You can donate any amount in a variety of ways 🐈 by phone or in person directly to our vet Greenwood Animal Hospital 206-528-3838 re: Seattle Dogs 🐕‍PayPal.me/seattledogs 🦮v e n m o @seattledogs 🐇c a s h a p p $seattledogs
🐾 UPDATE 🐾 Winter is doing well, she's home resting and getting tons of love! We want to thank you, yes you and People for Animal Care & Kindness for donating to save Winter and our vets Greenwood Animal Hospital who have been unwavering in their support of Seattle Dogs, their quickness in getting Winter in, diagnosing her and doing her surgery without delay is a testament to their commitment to us and the animals we serve. Thank you to Lori @ A Dog's Dream Natural Pet Supply for donating a blow up cone too! We are grateful for your support of Winter, without you all we couldn't help these precious animals. We also want to acknowledge Vanessa and her husband who have been caring for Winter, had they not realized her symptoms and reached out for help she wouldn't be here today. We are thankful that Winter is receiving so much love and attention from them they truly are beautiful people. Pyometra is a deadly disease if not caught in time, spaying is the only protection against the disease, today Winter is alive and will be back to being a healthy happy girl in no time, without being able to offer vet care to our homeless animals the impact would be astronomical, if you are able please continue to donate to pay towards our previous bills and open it up to help more that need us. UPDATE: Parvo positive 😭😭😭 They are being treated at Greenwood Animal Hospital. Donations are needed 🙏❤🐾 Website: Casadog.org Venmo: @Casadog PayPal: [email protected] Thank you ❤ We need positive thought for our 3 Shepherd pups. They haven't been eating & have diarrhea. Their amazing foster just got them to our vet in Seattle. We are hoping for it to be simple like giardia but also know that it could be parvo 😔 We will update when we know ❤🤞🐾
Rat poisoning!! Meet Tom Tom, this sweet kitty Ingested rat poison and ended up spending a week at our vet, with great vets Greenwood Animal Hospital assistance thru ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center and our outreach Gena this cat was blessed to survive the poison. We've also treated the other cat named Yucky 😿 although I believe he deserves a better name we are pleased both are doing okay. Without vet care Yucky and Tom Tom would have died, there is no way we could walk away from them, could you? We are just sick that people are doing this, we understand the city has a huge rat problem, these rats do not fear animals or humans, sadly many animals and their people are subjected to living and sleeping with these rodents, the need for housing is huge. While we can't do anything about the housing, which hurts like hell, we can do something for these animals but we need your help. Please consider donating. You can donate to Seattle dogs in a variety of ways, remember we are a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to helping homeless animals in Seattle so your donation is tax deductible.💰 🩸 Donate directly to our vet by phone/in person Greenwood Animal Hospital 206-528-3838 🐾Paypal.me/seattledogs 🐾C A S H A P P $seattledogs 🐾V E N M O @seattledogs
Hello Casa Dog family 🐾❤ Our bill at our vet Greenwood Animal Hospital is high and we pay weekly but then have more vet visits. This bill is not normal vetting. We've had distemper, parvo, hospitalization, luxating patella surgeries, emergency spay surgeries, hernia surgeries, dentals, ultrasounds, tests -lepto, 4dx, Distemper, bloodwork, prescription food & xrays. You name it we have had it happen the last year. Yes we have adopted alot of doggies but when you have a higher number of rescued dogs you have a higher chance of having some complications. We do all necessary tests, surgeries, vaccines prior to travel but unfortunately things can happen. Which we always give the best care to each dog. Our vet knows we do everything that is needed. If everyone who liked our page donated $5 that would be AMAZING!!! THANK YOU ❤ WE ARE 501C3 & YOUR DONATION IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE 🐾🐾🐾 Venmo: @Casadog PayPal: [email protected] Website: Casadog.org Directly: Greenwood Animal Hospital
