The world has lost Queen Elizabeth. The beloved monarch passed today at her home in Balmoral.

There must surely be a large and boisterous chorus of barks (and neighs!) at the Bridge. Their queen has come to find her dear ones again, in a place beyond sorrow. Beyond tears.

Please help us welcome Nampa PD’s newest team members - Harlee and Greta.
We told you recently we were expanding our K-9 program, and with that expansion, we are also testing a couple new law enforcement concepts - small dogs and felines.
The agility, portability and ability to place these compact animals into small spaces is something their handlers are going to be testing in the coming weeks. Their training has just started in-house, and in mid-April, they will attend a 4 week academy with other agencies that are also test driving this new approach to drug enforcement.
When asked about the new program, Chief Joe Huff said, “Fiscal responsibility is an important part of being the Chief of Police. While I’m a bit skeptical of the new concept, I’m trying to be pawsitive and I’m willing to give it a try. We’re pretty forward-thinking here at the Nampa Police Department, so we’ll see how it turns out. Having smaller animals for those tough-to-reach-spaces really does make sense. Keep in mind, this was a less expensive option, so it won’t be catastrophic if it doesn’t work as well as planned.”
Thank You to the new handlers, Officer Brian Barnes and Officer Eric Knight, for bringing forward this new idea and for working hard to convince the Chief that it’s worth a try.
