I’ve been so bad at posting here but I’m much more active on tik tok! Follow me for more recent freshwater antics. This is my newest set up (two months ago but haven’t posted much on here!) it’s the 90L from . It’s stocked with an apisto borellii pair, 10 corydoras, 20+ chili/strawberry rasboras, 12 ember tetras, 7 cardinal tetras, a blood red tiger pleco, 2 mystery snails, and a ton of Ramshorns! I plan on adding a few more chilis, one or two more embers, and potentially some amano shrimp.

This is my first tank where I haven’t had bettas as the center piece (don’t worry I still have way too many bettas in way too many tanks). The center piece fish here are the apistos, which have been so amazing and I’m so happy with my choice. They are beautiful, not timid, and are not at all aggressive toward the community. Their names are Mimi and Mo and they are a lovely bonder pair.

The light arrived on Monday and it has been such a game changer. It’s a WRGB II- a huge upgrade from the cheap amazon light I had in its place until it arrived, which grew plants but was not nearly as powerful. The depth of color, ability to customize and power level of the Chihiros is next level!!!

Allow me to introduce you to my new 90L tank from UNS! This has been my dream tank for a long time, and it’s so amazing to have it finally come to fruition. I made the decision to downsize from my 40g breeder because I felt it was too big for my space, and was constantly giving me issues. I was not satisfied with the aesthetics of it, but more importantly, my fish were suffering. There were several unexplained fish deaths, parameters would randomly shift, and I felt like I was going crazy trying to fix a tank I wasn’t even satisfied with. It was the only tank I’ve had an issue with like this and referred to it as my “haunted” tank 👻. The stocking of the tank was quite low, so the 90L was a perfect transition. It took me forever to take down the old tank and set this one up, but I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I just added the stock from their temporary tank last night and they are doing amazing. There’s nothing that sparks my creativity and is more gratifying, and meditative than this hobby. My tanks are ever evolving, and this one is no exception. I will be adding many more plants and making other modifications over the next few weeks and will do my best to be more consistent with posting updates on here. Happy holidays everyone! I know I’ve been pretty inactive on here, been taking a (sort of) break from social media the past month or so. Wanted to check in with everyone and share the growth status of Boo Boo’s tank!! This was after a bit of trimming and maintenance tonight, but I think it’s evolving beautifully.

Whoever said “home is where the heart is” was on to something 🤔

I love my beautiful little family, my cozy, healing home, and my life (even on the hard days). I am so grateful to wake up each day with by my side, who taught me what it means to be truly unconditionally loved.

When life does feels overwhelming, I try my best to return to gratitude. For the lessons, the love, the stillness, and the quiet strength that is present within not only me, but you, and every person you’ve ever met.

So grateful to my lifelong friend and talented animal caregiver for trusting me with my very first aquascaping job! Once the new light arrives tomorrow, this tank is really going to shine — and in just a few weeks, the plants will be grown in beautifully. This setup was created for a betta she rescued off Facebook, who had been kept in a 1-gallon cylinder without a heater or resting spots and fed low-quality goldfish food. He’s showing slight swim bladder issues now, but I’m confident he’ll heal and thrive in his new, carefully designed home. Once the plants fill in a bit, I will post some updated photos.
