Laparoscopic artificial insemination procedure of one of our Ouessant ewes. Here you see the semen straw being injected into the uterine horn. To increase the likelihood of success, and hopefully twins, he injects half the straw into each horn.

Today was LAI and embryo transfer day! We took six Ouessant ewes for LAI and three dairy ewes to serve as recipients for our embryos.

All of our girls were in favorable condition, and everything went smoothly with their procedures. Now we’re praying for positive results! We’ll pregnancy test everyone in about six weeks and see where we stand.

We’re so excited to see what the future holds for our breeding program!

Another breeding project we’re working on is our “Moppets”! We’re working toward combining the adorable Valais markings and beautiful, long, shaggy locks with the smaller size and more manageable stature of the Ouessant.

Toward the end of the year, we’ll be breeding our Valaisdoll, Lola, with Lincoln, our Valais-Ouessant cross, to further this goal. Aren’t they just adorable? ❤️

The Sebastopol geese are so beautiful as they glide across the pond. They should start their laying season in a few months! If you’d like to get on our wait lists for goslings please let me know. I’m anticipating a very limited availability.

It’s hard to explain how tiny Ouessant sheep are if you haven’t seen them in person. I snapped a few pictures to try and showcase just how little they are. In the first picture is our 15/16 ewe lamb Zilpha (Zilly) right behind our diary ewe Gertrude. Zilly is almost 6 months old, and just about fully grown.

The second picture is some of the adult Ouessant ewes next to some dairy lambs that aren’t quite 4 weeks old yet, and they are just about the same hight!

Just a couple more weeks and we take all the Ouessant ewes to be laparoscopically artificially inseminated for more 15/16 offspring, and 3 of our dairy ewes to be recipients for 100% purebred Ouessant embryos! Please pray we have an amazing success rate! It’s so exciting bringing this amazing breed to North America!

Sophie wants to beat the Christmas rush to sit under your Christmas tree!🌲 She’s a very experienced (mid 20’s) healthy Haflinger lady who can make all kinds of wishes come true. Safe with the littlest riders and stout enough for adults to ride. She is a real confidence builder who has two speeds - slow and slower. Great for the farrier and easy to load. No bad habits. Lives out full time with tiny sheep, goats and donkeys. Two thousand reasons will make her yours. Scurry, TX PM with questions.

Five young mini LaManchas looking for new pastures near Scurry/Grays Prairie, TX 🐐

All were born here on our farm this spring and are approximately 35–40 lb each.

• Mandy and Windy Darling — Mini LaMancha doelings. Both are polled; Windy has blue eyes. Too young to breed this year but definitely breeding quality. .
• John Darling — tan, blue-eyed, polled Mini LaMancha wether.
• Joseph — white ¾ LaMancha wether with scurs.
• Peter Pan — black-and-white, blue-eyed, polled Mini LaMancha wether.

The three boys are bonded, so I would especially love to see them stay together. Peter Pan had a congenital urinary diverticulum surgically corrected when he was a week old; I’m happy to discuss his history with anyone interested.

None of the five are registered or vaccinated. The wethers were recently dewormed; the doelings’ fecals were good so no meds.

Message me with which goat or group interests you and a little about the home you have for them.

I think they might be hungry. 😆

On a side note, please pray we get some rain!

Are you interested in adding the world’s smallest sheep to your flock? These rams are 7/8 Ouessant, and ready to find new grazing pastures! They are part of an upbreeding program to establish the breed in North America and are extremely rare. Excellent for smaller homesteads, and fiber enthusiast. If you’d like more information, feel free to message me! Located in Scurry TX.
