So Jalapeno is at the vet. They are doing X-rays since he is limping and favoring that paw. Looks like he was bit by some animal but it's an old injury... We're praying as always that it's not anything serious... And once again asking for donations.... We hate to do it, especially after y'all helped SO much with Luke. But it's a never ending battle. We're looking at some potential fundraising ideas and trying other things so we're all on the same page in the rescue. this is Jalapeno aka "Hally". Named after the bite we took out of one on the way to get him and the almost bite he took out of us. He was a very spicy kitty at first so we had to keep him isolated and be cautious. the second time we went to socialize him and were preparing for hissing, we were pleasantly surprised to hear purring instead. Being on the street alone and scared, naturally, he was defensive. But once he knew he was safe he opened right up to us. He is favoring his paw and looks like he was injured along the way, so we're getting him to the vet as soon as we can. Our hands are already full but we still somehow manage knowing these babies need a voice.

Some people wouldn't have bothered. Many people believe who would want a one-eyed cat. And unfortunately I've heard it for myself. But thankfully there are people out there with enough love in their hearts that KNOW these babies deserve just as much love as any cat. And they have a soft spot for these babies just like we do. We are here to prove that they deserve love and a chance just like every kitten in this world. That their life means something. And we all wanted to say THANK YOU with our hearts and souls for donating and seeing that Luke deserved to be saved just like we did. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😸

THE STRUGGLES RESCUERS DON’T TALK ABOUT

You see our happy adoption photos. You don’t see the:
• 3 a.m. bottle feedings
• $1,000+ emergency vet bills in a single day
• Calls about animals we have no room for but can’t turn away
• Tears after losing a kitten we fought to save

Rescue isn’t “cute” or “fun” all the time. It’s mentally, physically, and financially draining.

We don’t do it for recognition. We do it because every life matters, even the ones people walk past.
