Last week was one of those weeks that really puts everything into perspective.

What started as what seemed like a simple sprained ankle turned into so much more — multiple doctor’s appointments, unexpected ER visits, and a whole lot of worry in between.

Being there for my son was the only thing that mattered, but it did mean missing a lot of work — more than I ever would have planned.

I’m not someone who’s comfortable asking for handouts — it’s just not who I am. But I will ask for support in a way that still gives something back.
