Follow us for heartwarming arrivals, foster stories, and pets waiting for homes. Founded in 2011, GRRR is a small 501(c)(3) rescue organization that serves Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding counties. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats from owners who are no longer able to care for them, from public shelters without a “no-kill” policy, and from situations where they have suffered abuse

or neglect. We are committed to helping both the most needy and the more readily adoptable animals in our community. All donations made are tax deductible, and every dollar goes directly to the care of our animals. All of our rescues are spayed or neutered, receive proper veterinary treatment, and are placed in loving foster homes while awaiting adoption. Two senior cats were left behind in an empty apartment after their owners were evicted. Alone, hungry, and weighing just 4 and 5 pounds, they had little hope until CCAS stepped in and GRRR Georgia Rescue welcomed them into foster care today. They’re together, safe, and finally surrounded by love. Their journey to health and happiness begins now. Stay tuned for updates as they heal.

Two more seniors are safe! Yesterday we welcomed two senior dogs, Lillie and Rosie, and today we are overjoyed to share that Laverne and Shirley, both 12 years old, have joined the GRRR Georgia Rescue.

After years of being used by a heartless breeder, their bodies carry the scars: mammary tumors, heartworm disease, rotted teeth, and more yet to be discovered. But their spirits? Bright. Their love? Boundless. This is what Last Stop Loved means: giving seniors the chance to know joy, comfort, and family. Watch us turn their lives around, as we provide them with much-needed medical care, love and the promise for a happy ever after.

**Update: Foster home found.
Save seniors Pecan & Apple. Need out of animal control ASAP. When their owner was evicted, senior cats Pecan and Apple were left behind in an abandoned apartment. They were forgotten, without food, care, or love. Animal Control picked them up, but their future is uncertain.

These two gentle souls are starved for affection and medical care, yet their hearts are still open. We can provide everything they need: medical treatment, food, and supplies. What we need is the most important thing: a safe, loving foster home.

- All it takes is a spare room and your compassion. Many of you have a spare room you could use.
- It costs you nothing but love and a small amount of your time.
- Together, we can save them from euthanasia and give them the dignity of being cherished in their final chapter.
- Foster homes should be in comfortable driving distance to our veterinary partners in Savannah.
To foster, please complete our application: grrrsavesdogs.org/volunteer and text us at (912) 695-2415 with your willingness to help or any questions. Let’s make sure Pecan and Apple’s last stop is loved, not lost.

Foster homes needed on Sunday for seniors Rose and Zena. Both have been rescued from a closed down puppy mill, both 12 years old, have super sweet personalities and will require extensive vetting to be provided through the GRRR Georgia Rescue’s Last Stop Loved Program. This program gives senior dogs and cats the chance to live out their final chapter in loving forever foster homes. All medical expenses are covered by the rescue for the rest of their lives.

This is great opportunity to offer a senior dog or cat a safe, nurturing environment in their golden years. Because senior pets often require frequent vet visits, foster homes must be within easy driving distance of our three veterinary partners, all located in Savannah.

Update: Foster homes have been obtained. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Y’all are amazing!

Foster homes needed within 48 hours for Rosie and Lilly. GRRR Georgia Rescue’s Last Stop Loved program gives senior dogs and cats the chance to live out their final chapter in loving forever foster homes. All medical expenses are covered by the rescue for the rest of their lives.

This is a beautiful opportunity to offer a senior dog or cat a safe, nurturing environment in their golden years. Right now, we urgently need foster homes in the Savannah area for Rosie and Lilly, a mother and daughter pair who must be placed separately due to interpersonal conflict. Both are house-trained and have begun using p*e pads as well.

Because senior pets often require more frequent vet visits, foster homes must be within easy driving distance of our three veterinary partners, all located in Savannah.

If you can open your heart and home to a senior animal, the love you’ll receive in return will be immeasurable.

Please complete our foster application at: grrrsavesdogs.org/volunteer
A GRRR volunteer will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your form. Thank you for being part of their journey.

Our Story

Founded in 2011, GRRR is a small 501(c)(3) rescue organization that serves Savannah, Georgia and the surrounding counties. We are dedicated to rescuing small dogs under 30 lbs. in size from owners who are no longer able to care for them, from public shelters without a “no-kill” policy, and from situations where they have suffered abuse or neglect. We are committed to helping both the most needy and the more readily adoptable animals in our community. GRRR places a large emphasis on working with senior dogs who are overlooked by most people when they are adopting a dog. We have rescued many senior dogs, insuring that their last years are comfortable, loved and happy. All donations made are tax deductible, and every dollar goes directly to the care of our animals. All of our rescues are spayed or neutered, receive proper veterinary treatment, and are placed in loving foster homes while awaiting adoption. To meet a pet of interest please complete an adoption application at grrrsavesdogs.org and we will contact you to discuss adoption opportunities.
