Two year old Casey joined the GRRR Georgia Rescue today after being rescued from CCAS. Casey still has a puppy like personality and loves life and people to the fullest. We need a foster home as we prepare him for adoption, a foster parent will need to work with him on house training and structure. He is super friendly and interacts well with other dogs. We do not have any idea about interaction with cats. Casey will need a fenced yard as he will need training on outdoor potty habits. If you would like to become a foster home for Casey, please complete our online application by visiting grrrsavesdogs.org/volunteer
Upon receipt of your application, a GRRR volunteer will reach out to you to discuss.

If you love happy terriers, you’ll love Taco! Recently rescued Taco has completed his second successful week in foster, on the 25th he will be neutered and on the 30th he will be ready to meet at our Bentley’s Meet & Greet Event from 11 am to 1 pm in Habersham Village, Savannah. If you would like more information on Taco, please reach out to us by text to (912) 695-2415 or complete our application by visiting the link in the comments section below. We are estimating his age at three, he is a super happy dog and his foster mom has been hard at work in training him. We will require a home with a fenced yard for Taco in addition to our other adoption requirements.

What dogs in your home take for granted; a warm bed, toys, good food, belly rubs and love, are things that millions of dogs never experience in their lifetime. Recently rescued Wendy who is six months old and blind, discovered everything listed above and more this week for the first time in her life. Thanks to the foster parents and volunteers at the GRRR Georgia Rescue, Wendy will now have a normal and happy life. There are so many more we need to rescue. We can only do it if people like you reach out to our rescue or any rescue in your local area. If you would like to be part of a story like Wendy’s, please visit https://donorbox.org/help-grrr-save-lives or grrrsavesdogs.org/volunteer

Meet Crease, our newest rescue. Crease is approximately one year in age, adorably sweet and one big bundle of love! This coming week we will get to work on his medical needs. We think that there might be an older injury from possibly being hit by a car; radiographs next week will assist in diagnosis. He will also need immunization updates, neuter surgery and heartworm testing. If you would like to assist in the costs associated with his rehabilitation, please visit:

Join us in welcoming Crease to the GRRR Georgia Rescue!

When we rescued Sunny Boy in spring we instantly fell in love with him but were nervous about his huge medical challenges. We started with his cancer surgery and at the time it didn’t look like his outcome would be promising. Well lo-and-behold look at him at his four month recheck yesterday - he is a cancer survivor! A huge shout out to Dr. Becker at Eastside Veterinary Hospital in Savannah; her surgery skills saved his life. Next stop? Heartworm treatment to start in early September at Eastside. Stay tuned for updates on this very happy dog at the GRRR Georgia Rescue.

Miracles like this are only made possible through donations to the GRRR Georgia Rescue. Please visit https://donorbox.org/help-grrr-save-lives if you would like to help Sunny Boy and other rescued animals requiring lifesaving surgeries. Congratulations to Cassie on her adoption. Cassie came to us and during grooming it was discovered that she had a sizable perforation in her face. Through immediate surgery it was discovered that there was cracked bone fragments lodged in her gums and radiographs showed that her jaw had been most likely been kicked and broken. Healing without medical care left her with an incorrectly aligned jaw. Despite the challenges she had faced prior to being rescued, her personality and demeanor remained incredibly sweet and loving. We then did another surgery completing her spay and dental work prior to her adoption. Whew. That’s a lot for a little dog but look at her today! Cassie is so incredibly happy with her new family and we celebrate the absolute joy of her adoption and the love she will know forever more.
