Meet Nala our new 13 wk old gsd puppy for board & train. She’s here to get obedience, manners, crate training & public access training so she learns how to behave in a human world & listen to her leaders. Keep you updated on her progress.

Maisie did her go home session yesterday. She had a very hard time paying attention to me with her family present for first few minutes. We were able to work through that mess to following commands. She tried to blow me off sending her to place from a distance as she wanted to rush over to her owner. She’s a challenging dog & when she doesn’t want to do a known command she will blow thru the highest corrections as she’s determined to do things her way at times. The owner messaged me this am to report she was quite amazed Maisie was holding commands, listening to her, didn’t react to school bus as she had been in past. She even waited to potty until given release command to do so, again the owner was impressed she stated. I’m here if owner needs my help but hope Maisie will continue to make good decisions on or off leash.

Blaze goes to Tractor Supply & TJ Maxx for public access training in which he did great! He also worked next to traffic, in which he use to lunge at cars, a common but very dangerous behavior in some dogs.

Maisie here for 3 week board & train doing some confidence building exercises. She would not go near any obstacles & would try to bolt away. She had a huge flight risk for anything she she feared. She would redirect on humans from just leash pressure. She is working off leash with reliability & has great recall now. She went to vets for routine work & held a down around barking dogs & behaved really well, did everything she was supposed to do. Good job Maisie!

Blaze here for 3 week board & train. Doing great working around dogs, public access, duration, recall etc. He was highly leash reactive, dogs, humans, cars, was guarding his owner. No one could come in the house, owner stated he was out of control! He was an insecure nervous dog who just wanted to get away , but he has gained so much confidence he now wants to be around us & play with the other dogs here. Great to see this handsome boy progress to a confident, well mannered, happy dog. He’s being trained up to off leash reliability so he & his owner will have more freedom.

Maisie building confidence around scary things. She was a flight risk & would bolt around anything that moved would bite if you tried to intervene in any manner. It took many reps of down in saucer to work her thru the insecurity of movement but we got it & overcame her objections to it. This state of mind & confidence has a shrapnel affect in other areas of the dogs life, much like cognitive behavioral therapy in humans. We find the cracks in the training & fill them. This is a big one for Maisie.

Our buddy Haas came with his owners to visit. So great to see them & our special boy. Haas has been a big part our family here since he was 9 weeks old. Character of a fun , loving dog!
