Let's talk about the city of Mounds
Mounds has become an area where cats and kittens are routinely abandoned, dumped, or given away with little thought about what happens next. The question we have to ask is: why is this considered acceptable?
The reality is that every "free kitten" given away today can easily become another litter tomorrow. Months later, we receive the calls and emails asking for help with yet another colony, another group of unwanted kittens, or another overwhelming situation that could have been prevented.
We need our supporters in Mounds to help us change this. Stand up for these animals. Encourage your friends, neighbors, and family members to spay and neuter their pets. Speak up when you see irresponsible practices. Be part of the solution.
At Outsiders TNR, we are working as quickly as possible to get cats sterilized and stabilize colonies before they continue growing. Thanks to our amazing supporters, we have already helped completely sterilize multiple colonies and prevent countless litters from being born.
However, our biggest obstacle is often funding. Every cat we help requires resources, and when donations slow down, so does our ability to respond. The truth is, if we cannot continue this work, the problem will only become worse.
We aren't sharing this to alarm anyone—we're sharing it because prevention works. Spay/neuter works. Community involvement works. But we cannot do it alone.
Now more than ever, we need donations, event participation, and community support. Together, we can stop the cycle and create lasting change for the cats of Mounds.
Please help us be part of the solution.
