*Meet Synbie!*

Synbie is all the evidence you need that good things come in small packages. She arrived at the shelter traumatized, terrified, and shut down, but after four short weeks in a foster home she completely turned herself around.

Her foster says, "Employing tremendous courage and resiliency she has come out of her shell, and become a sweet, curious, playful, relationship oriented cat. She loves the morning, when she busily explores everything, gets the zoomies, plays with her wand toys like a kitten, and has lots to say. In the afternoon she likes to relax, preferably with someone beside her to pet her and remind her of how beautiful she is. She comes when called (at least some of the time), likes to talk and purr and be interactive, but has no trouble spending time alone. Synbie may be twelve, but she looks and acts like a youngster and has plenty of spunk. She will entertain you with her antics and opinions, and warm your heart with her sweet nature."

Synbie is back at the shelter and has reverted to her sadder self, so we really need someone to be her hero and give her a forever home where she can happily show what a wonderful cat she is. 🥺 Once she is settled, you can trust that her confidence will prevail and she’ll be ready for all the love you have to give her. 💞🙏 #adoptmeplease

*Meet Mimi!*

6 year old Mimi is awaiting her forever family in a foster home, and here's what her foster has to say about her!

"Mimi is the perfect cat for anyone seeking an affectionate, adorable, and talkative couch-potato! She’s extremely well-behaved and has been a breeze to foster. While she does get the “evening zoomies” and loves chasing after thrown mouse toys, she spends most of the day rotating between her favorite lounging spots and politely demanding our attention.

Her favorite thing in the world is head rubs, and she will gently push her head into your hand until she gets them. She also loves kneading – on the ground, in the air, the blankets, your arm…thankfully she doesn’t mind her nails being trimmed! She is a purr-machine and will often doze off upside down with some adorable half-purrs/half-snores.

She is pretty brave but she really doesn’t like loud noises so might do better in a somewhat quieter household. She is a big character with a small tail who will bring her new owner tons of happiness, entertainment, and cuddles!"

*Meet Shadowpuss!*

6 year old Shadowpuss is a retired street cat who has discovered the luxury of living with humans. He is a gentle soul that just wants love and attention, but he'll occasionally offer a physical reminder (with a nip or a swat) if he feels forgotten, so a savvy adopter without small children would be best for this guy. He is very playful and affectionate, although other cats make him a bit grumpy so we also think he will be happier as your one and only.

Despite his quirks, Shadowpuss is just a big, handsome fluff looking for someone to love and appreciate him, and we know his purrfect person is out there somewhere! 🥺

*Happy Tails Update!*

"Buddy (formerly Hobbes/Hobson) is doing great! He is the best kitten I could ever have dreamed of. He and my resident cat BuBu are good buddies now and it is such a treat to watch them play. I am so grateful for ASAP and the work that you do. My family is now complete with our new baby kitty Buddy! He is fun and very curious, but also well behaved. He will meow to say "Hello!" but not at all excessively. He eats and drinks well for a growing kitten, and we haven't had any problems with the litter box. He loves his toys and has always been his happy self since day one!"

Congratulations, Buddy, and Happy Tails to you! 🥳💕🏠 #happytailsupdate #adoptionsuccess

*The kittens are coming...and they're gonna be hungry!*

ASAP Cats is one of the lucky few rescue organizations in Santa Barbara with the knowledge and volunteer power to sustain a successful kitten foster program to care for orphaned little ones, like Earl here. These little guys arrive at our shelter as young and vulnerable as one day (sometimes just hours) old. 🥺

Our dedicated foster volunteers work around the clock (literally) to make sure these babies survive by bottle feeding them every few hours. 🍼

Now that the 2022 kitten season is beginning, we need to fortify our stock of kitten formula so we're ready to feed them when they arrive, and we need YOUR HELP! 😻🙏

Please consider donating Breeder's Edge® Foster Care Feline Milk Replacer by visiting https://www.revivalanimal.com/product/breeders-edge-foster-care-feline-milk-replacer.

Thank MEW for helping us achieve our mission of saving the homeless cats AND KITTENS of Santa Barbara County!

*Meet Boots!*

Boots is an undeniably handsome 6 year old desperately seeking a person to bond with! He likes to sleep and cuddle on you at night time, loves to play, and loves to be pet. He's calm and independent, but also pretty talkative so you'll know just when he needs something. 😊

Boots had bladder crystals about a year ago but is doing very well on a non-prescription urinary diet, and hasn't has any issues since! Boots grew up with another male cat, but about 2 years ago he got stressed out and wanted to be left alone, so he would probably be happiest as the only (feline) child in the home, especially since stress can be a contributing factor for urinary complications.

Don't let Boots' (very minor) quirks deter you -- he's a phenomenal guy with tons of love to give! Make an appointment to meet Boots and fill out an adoption application online at asapcats.org today! 🙏💕 #adoptmeplease #fortheloveofcats

*Meet Iris!*

11 year old Iris and her sister Juno were tearfully relinquished to ASAP Cats when the arrival of a new baby with severe allergies meant their family couldn't keep them anymore. 🥺

The girls weren't bonded to one another, and Juno has gone to a foster to adopt home, leaving Iris at the shelter wondering when her new family will find her. 😿

Iris has only known love and affection in her life, so she'll make a fantastic companion for anyone who appreciates purrs, snuggles, and unconditional trust. Iris loves to be around people and follows our volunteers around the shelter hoping someone will stop to play with her or give her a pet. This precious girl deserves people of her own to love her and keep her safe -- could that be you?

Submit an application and make an appointment to meet Iris now at asapcats.org! 🙏💕 #adoptmeplease #fortheloveofcats

*Happy Tails Update!*

"Nimbus is eating, drinking and using his litter box very well. The first day we arrived to the new house he was extremely curious and wanted to explore everything while at the same time returning back to me for pets and rubs. He loves to play and we spend a lot of time with his toys. We are currently working on him not playfully biting. When he wants to play and goes for my hand I say "ow!" and slowly pull my hand away so that he knows it is not a toy, and the biting has definitely decreased. He loves to be pet and cuddled and has become my little buddy following me around the house.

Nimbus is such an amazing cat that I adore, he’s so funny to watch and very affectionate. At night he likes to sleep very close to my face and he puts his paw on my cheek, so cute."

Congratulations, Nimbus, and Happy Tails to you! 🏠🥳😻 #happytailsupdate #adoptionsuccess

*Meet Jilly!*

Three year old Jilly is a sweet, no-fuss kind of girl. She's laid back and enjoys treats and attention, and prefers if you make the first move.

...and by "move" we mean that Jilly would like you to hold your hand out to her and then hold still so she can rub and rub and rub. If you try to pet her, she will gently tap your hand with her paw to remind you that your job is to hold still. 🤣

Submit an application to meet sweet, silly Jilly at asapcats.org! #adoptmeplease #fortheloveofcats

"We wanted to thank you for helping facilitate our adoption. Pecan, now officially Carmel Pecan, is fully adopted now, doing marvelously well, gets along wonderfully with Sally our dog and is a very loved member of our family!

We just wanted to thank you so much for all your help and great advice, which has helped make this a great transition! You all there are such wonderful people. Thank you for all you do!!"

*Meet Fufu!*

Fufu is a lean, mean, purring machine! He is a young, active cat and likes to explore, but is also totally happy to be petted and snuggled. He can be a bit cautious at first, but once he's comfortable with his surroundings, Fufu loves to hang out with his people.

Fufu was relinquished to ASAP Cats for medical care after suffering a urinary blockage. Our medical staff feels confident that he can be kept blockage free through a special prescription diet which will need to be strictly maintained. ASAP Cats will provide the first month's worth of food, and help his adopter get set up with an ongoing prescription. 😺👍

Special needs cats like Fufu are among those that spend the most time looking for a family. 😿 Help him find the special adopters we just know are out there for him! 🙏💗 #adoptmeplease #fortheloveofcats

*Happy Tails Update!*

"Melissa (now Mel) is doing great! She always finishes her food, has been drinking plenty of water, and hasn’t had any issues using the little box.

As soon as we brought her home, she immediately started exploring the whole apartment. Since day 1, she has loved playing, getting pets, and cuddling. Her favorite part of the day is taking a nap, especially when she can lay in the sun in her window bed. She is so friendly and loving to anyone that comes to visit.

She is really one of the sweetest cats we have ever met and makes the perfect addition to our family. We are definitely ready to adopt her!"

Congratulations, Mel, and Happy Tails to you! 🥳💕🏡 #adoptionsuccess #happytailsupdate

*Meet Swallowtail!*

Swallowtail was found as an older kitten with no apparent experience with people before coming into our care.

Through much patience and hard work with our behavior team she has slowly blossomed into a cat who likes being pet and gives lovely head butts and rubs. She'll let you know when she had enough by giving a quick tap with her paw.

She is still a bit timid and will need a quiet, patient home to help her continue to grow in her confidence, but she's an absolutely adorable girl who deserves the most loving family. 🙏🥺 #adoptmeplease #fortheloveofcats

*Happy Tails Update!*

"Kiwi has been such a sweet addition to our house! He seems to have adjusted to his new environment very quickly, showing a lot of curiosity about his surroundings and being a total cuddle bug right away. The first few days he ate slowly and didn't always finish his food, but now he gobbles everything down and is drinking plenty of water as well. He didn't have any litter box issues either.

Right from the start he was extremely affectionate and very eager to investigate everything around my room and the rest of the house. Since then he's gotten a bit more comfortable with the house and much more playful, but still loves his early morning snuggles and will sit on my lap when he's not in a playful mood. He lets us brush him, and even let us put a harness on him a couple times to get him used to it. We're starting out some clicker training which he responds well to. He loves playing with two of his toys and scratching a post we got for him - he hasn't scratched furniture much at all since we bought the post.

We really love having him around our home and are definitely ready to adopt him!"

Congratulations, Kiwi, and Happy Tails to you! 🏡🥳😻 #happytailsupdate #fostertoadopt

1•2•22 still no sign or anything at all on our dogs. We are offering a reward to anyone who has them and to anyone who can give us any details at all on there where abouts because it’s pretty impossible for no one to have seen them at all in all this time. They stick together they would never leave each others side unless someone personally separated them but even then one would try to return home. When they’ve ran away at night before someone has found them and either called us or took them home for the night and called in the morning. Our surrounding neighbors know this wasn’t the first time they got out and have all been very kind about returning them and praying they come home soon because they are the sweetest loving dogs. They’re so friendly they would get into anyones car truck or even a horse trailer. Someone has to of seen them at least once especially within the first day-first week of them being missing. Please give us any information you can at all even if you think you might have seen them on the road, in the mountains, at your neighbors, literally any place you think could have been them. It was a month yesterday the night that they left and we have not and will not stop looking until we have an answer. Happy New Year Please Help Us Find Our Dogs 🦮🐕‍🦺🐾 -Kianna and Manny

Hello ASAP Working Cats, I'm a volunteer/foster for DREAM Animal rescue. Last July, we rescued a feral mama, Shayla, and her four 4 month old kittens. We thought we would be able to socialize the mom because she would eat our of our hands, but after all this time, it is becoming clear that she cannot be socialized. Her kittens were all placed after a lot of work to socialize them. Shayla is not aggressive, she just won't let people touch her. She is preventing us from saving other cats. Last night, I got a call from an irresponsible owner who has 3 pregnant females and wants help. I can't help her because Shayla is in the room where I usually put pregnant mama cats. Your rescue was recommended as a possible place to get help for the mama Shayla. She is about 5 years old and survived outside for 4 years, but now she has been in my office for almost a year, so we don't feel it would be safe to put her back where she was. The people who had been feeding her moved out of that house, and there are tons of coyotes in the area. Do you have a possible placement for our beautiful cat? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
