We had a very successful outing at Pipe Opener 2! Everyone had a successful outing especially with the nasty storms that made it difficult to get anything done!

Adria & Bump- They competed in BN CT and ended with their score of a 33.8! This placed them at 6th! Adria and Bump pulled of a lovely dressage test after a very distracted morning and finished off with a well riden jump round!
Harper & Apache- They competed in GAG ct and placed with their score of 34.5! They had to wake up in warm up but they got it together in their nicely ridden test! On another exciting news she centered her whole course in stadium! She was very proud about that!!
Emi & Goose- They competed in Starter CT and placed on her dressage score of 36.4 Her jump round was great! She came out smiling and said this was the most fun she had in awhile! This was her first show with
him and had only a handful of rides prior!
Lydndsey & Apache- They competed in starter ct! They had a bit of a speedy dressage test but she made sure that she will keep him cantering in her test lol. We will now work on slowing thay down. She had a fun time on stadium after getting a little lost but she reached her goals and jumped everything confidently!
Addison& Merlin- They competed in Starter CT and had a little rough Dressage test due to Merlin being hyper but they pulled off a
really nice jump round afterwards!
Cassidy&kaycee- They did two dressage tests at the end of the day to work on stage fright and Cassidy had a lot of mental things to work through but figured it out and pulled off a relaxed dressage test at the end!

Unfortunately we lost an amazing pony last night. Derby was the first official lesson horse we had in my lesson program and also apart of the original crew that was there when the barn opened 10 years ago. He was an all star and a story that should be told. Mom and I purchased him aaaa i want to say 12 years ago (time is hard for me) from Alison Feher and Mary Von Werne Jones. When they had him he was a rescue and they made him into a cute little lesson pony who had an amazing talent in jumping. Around the time we purchased him I lost my heart pony Rainbow who was just like Derby but a bay and maybe a little meaner haha. I fell in love from the start. He was an Arab Welsh with a whole lot of sass. We started him in my program at a barn i was boarding at and I had this little girl named Rebecca Ruiter that was taking lessons with me. I put her on him and it was like the perfect match. She got to experience what I did with Rainbow and I loved it. She took him to a few eventing shows and played jumpers at home. They were unstoppable. In the mean time he was used for lessons but he was very energetic and ready to go so he really just wanted to have fun. Rebecca and him had their fun for a few years and helped him settle into the new farm we moved to but she sadly moved to Germany shortly after. I think after that Derby knew he had to grow up and become the perfect lesson pony. He had many kids start on him and many that are still at the farm doing what they love because of Derby. He helped in many summer camps, helped kids learn the posting trot even though he was annoyed about being on the lunge line lol, was many kids first leased pony so they can experience having a pony, went to many very first shows with kids, was the let's get on Derby and go for a gallop in the pasture pony, helped at a IEA show, and gosh the list goes on. The last few years arthritis was kicking in and he was slowing down on the crazy fun stuff. I mean he is in his mid twenties now. He had a long break during the winter and came back and did lead line lessons with little ones and some trotting. He also enjoyed stealing the kids cookies. Unfortunately the terrible things that comes with Grey's caught up to him yesterday. He had massive melanomas inside him that did some damage and he unfortunately didnt have a chance. He had a great day before anything happened and no signs of pain but an hour after dinner everything went down hill. We made the hard decision to let him cross the Rainbow bridge and be with his buddies at the other side.

This year absolutely sucks and I really hate that Derby had to go. This really breaks my heart and the barns.

R.I.P Derby show name: Another one Bites the Dust (not a great name for announcing his passing)

This weekend at Carolina horse park was a very busy but successful weekend!
Me (Sarah Brown)🪄👻
I brought both babies with me and did a intro A dressage test with them. My only goals this weekend was exposing them to the show life and making it through the test. Drako acted like he has done this a million times. The warm up ring didnt phase him and he relaxed some in the dressage area. Poltergeist was a little nervous but stayed focused on me the entire time. She was a little forward in our test but really kept it together. I tied with myself with these guys and got a 39. We placed 2nd and 3rd. The is great due to my only goals was just to stay i the ring. This was their first show and field trip out.. I cant wait to take them out again.
ADRIA AND BUMP 💜
Wow. She showed us what hard work and consistent practice does to reach your goals. She got a 29.1 (TWICE) in her dressage tests. She did a BN ht and a extra dressage test to practice. She placed over all 4th. She unfortunately got a rail in stadium ( they were to relaxed out there) and a time fault on xc (we woke up).
KENZI AND GOOSE 🍊
Same thing! She showed up and did all her homework that gave us a lovely 35.6 dressage score in Bn ht. Unfortunately we had a few rails in stadium 💤 but regained our selfs in xc! We did great and reached some goals this weekend!
LYDNDSEY AND APACHE🍏
She came out and was ready to do her first war horse this weekend. We had a great Gag ct! She got a 34.1 in dressage and placed 6th overall! She ended with her dressage score!!
HARPER AND APACHE❤️
They did there first war horse Gag ht and did amazing! Their dressage score was a 37 and had a clear round all together and a few time faults on xc. She was taking a comfortable pace threw xc which made her successful at the end!!
CASSIDY AND KAYCEE 💙
We are still learning more in dressage but she did reach personal goals at the end! We stayed calm during our test and started to apply our homework during the ride. Stadium and xc went very well with two clear rounds!
ADDISON AND MERLIN🦜
They also reached many personal goals in dressage and starting to get a better understanding about bending and outside aids. They had a relaxed ride through stadium and a fun ride through xc! Both clear rounds!
OLIVIA AND BOB 🌟
Bob decided dressage was not his friend yesterday and wanted to leave but Olivia kept it under control. However they did redeem themselves with xc and stadium and placed 5th overall!
My pictures soon!

Lydndsey and Luke had a highly successful outing at the recent show held at Heather Ridge Farm.
In his first-ever show, Lukas rode Ransom to a first-place finish in the Intro B dressage test. Lukas was thrilled with the result and is already looking forward to competing again with Ransom.
Lydndsey and her horse, Apache, also had a great day, securing a first-place ribbon in the Gag Combined Test. This successful performance gives them a confidence boost as they prepare for their first combined test at War Horse.
Thank you to Heather Ridge Farm for hosting such a positive and well-run show, which provided an excellent introduction to competition for the younger riders. We look forward to returning for future events.

Iceman found his forever person! He was going to be one of our lesson ponies but we decided that he rather have his own person. He loves the one on one cuddles and being number 1 in someone's life.
To my understanding this girl wants to do everything with him. Barrel racing to jumping. He is going to have a all round life! I can't wait to see where these two go!

We miss you Iceman now be the magical pony for this little girl!
