This week’s puppy of the week is Skyler! Skyler is a wonderful example at puppy school of the importance of being able to settle. Team Skyler has put in the effort to help her develop a calm demeanor by reinforcing matwork and supervising energy levels. When the energy is high, Skyler is redirected into a calmer behavior, and through these repititions and reinforcement she has learned that a balanced energy level is rewarding! We love watching Skyler progress every day! From her play style to her snuggles, she is pawsitively the best! 🧡🤩

🐾Errorless learning means simply to set your dog up for success! Teach small achievable steps to towards the desired behavior and reward each step of the way.

🐾Mistakes are natural and should never be punished, they could be a sign of fatigue or confusion and do not need to be dwelled on. Instead have your puppy play, go for a walk, or take a nap do they can come back refreshed and ready to go!

This week’s puppy of the week is Birdie! Birdie has made incredible strides at puppy school, as she came in extremely timid and fearful, but now she has come out of her shell to show her adorable personality. Our trainers have worked with Birdie’s handling in many ways, like getting down on the floor to greet her with treats and letting her make the decision to interact. Using classical and counter conditioning, we are working on modifying Birdie’s view of humans from negative to positive. With consistency, Birdie gets rewarded for her interactions, even if it’s just when a person walks past her. Because of the reinforcement history she has built around humans, Birdie is like a different pup! She walks around puppy school with a tail wag greeting the trainers, and we couldn’t be more proud. We are all amazed at how far Birdie has come and we know this girl has so much potential! Go Team Birdie! 🧡✨🤩
