It's with a heavy heart I type these words......

George passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Friday, May 13, 2022. We are sad beyond words but know George is in a better place as he lost the use of his hind legs just before Friday. He had been struggling with hip dysplasia for quite some time and had struggles with his liver and kidneys from medication. He lived a good life and was loved by many!! Thank you to those who helped rescue George long ago as he brought years of joy to our lives and to those who knew him. We know in our hearts his spirit will remain alive and that we will meet again one day ❤️

To all who love George The Great - Cane Corso Italiano He was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and kidney failure yesterday at the vet. He went in for a shoulder xray as he was limping on his front left leg for a few days. They had to sedate him to do so and we had them run bloodwork since it's been a little while. That's how they found out about everything so he was taken off his regular pain meds and replaced with "safer" meds along with a supplement to help his liver detox. Was a rough night last night and I wanted to reach out to ask for prayers for George that he can turn a corner. He has been such a joy to my family, my heart hurts for him. He has to be right by my side at all times. He can no longer climb the stairs to sleep with myself or in Kyle's bed. Last night I slept on the living room couch, on George's bed and on the floor to be next to him.

Thanks ahead of time! I know how much George is loved and I apologize it's been so long since I've posted. We hope and pray everyone is doing well this year❣

I went to the vet today. My human said I'm drinking too much water, that I'm bloated and I'm panting too much, sometimes through the night. They took some of my blood, a urine sample, cut my nails and sent me on my way. Should get results in a day or two. Getting old means I get poked and prodded more but I love the attention. They think 8 years old is old what about my human?

George is doing just fine at 8 years old. He is starting to get lots of grays and his hips hurt often but he's well everyone!!
