Poppy’s smile says everything 💛

She’s been navigating a tender time after losing her sweet sister, Pearly… and yet, on her walk today, she lit up. Big smiles, soft eyes, and that quiet joy that reminds you dogs live so beautifully in the present moment.

With a new little sibling arriving soon, this in-between moment matters. Feeling safe, loved, and understood.

Some days just feel extra full of gratitude 💛

We had the sweetest walk with Tyson & Yo-Yo—two adorable little poodles 7 & 12 years old who couldn’t be more different. One is mellow and easygoing, the other a little more reactive… and it’s such a beautiful reminder that we’re all unique, and all deserving of patience, understanding, and love.

Their parents are amazing, these boys are a joy, and moments like this really make me pause and appreciate everything we’ve built.

After 15 years with The Zen Pet, you start to really understand what works—and what matters most. And what matters most is people. My team is truly incredible… kind, compassionate, attentive, and so present with every dog they care for.

I feel so grateful for each and every one of them, and for the trust our clients place in us every single day.

And a special thank you to Alexandra for sharing such a beautiful walk with these two 💫

Some dogs just need a little more time—and we’re here for that. 💛

Mila came to us feeling fearful and unsure, often hiding and not allowing a harness. With patience, consistency, and truly mindful care, Rachel took the time to meet her where she was—no pressure, just trust-building one step at a time.

Yesterday, Mila allowed her harness to be adjusted… and today? She’s taking treats, going on walks, and genuinely enjoying her time. 🐾

This is why we do what we do. Every dog deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported—especially those who need a little extra love.

Now Mila gets to enjoy her walks, and her parents can go about their day knowing she’s in caring, experienced hands. A true win-win. ✨

Little Miss Sally 🐾✨

All squishy, full of kisses, curious about everything, and so light on her feet. Being around a puppy like her is a reminder… life is meant to be felt with wonder, trust, and a little bit of carefree joy.

Puppies aren’t meant to be alone for long—they need time to explore, sniff, learn, and of course… potty breaks. (Think: 2 months = ~2 hours, 4 months = ~4 hours.)

We’re so grateful to share these moments—not just caring for them, but experiencing that pure, present energy they bring.

Recently, a pup in our care visited Perfect Pet Salon in Solana Beach and WOW — the transformation was incredible. Meet Leo, featured here — quite possibly the cutest little Bichon ever 🐶✨

Leo came in needing some serious TLC, and their team handled him with such care, patience, and skill. Not only does he look absolutely amazing, but their communication with the client was thoughtful and thorough every step of the way.

At our core, we believe pet care should be mindful, attentive, and personalized — understanding each dog’s unique needs, behaviors, and comfort level. It’s not just about the service, it’s about the experience. And that’s exactly what we saw reflected in the way Perfect Pet Salon operates.

Some of our relationships span generations of doggies… and that’s something we hold so close to our hearts. We had the honor of caring for Lennon, a beloved King Charles Spaniel, for years—and while he’s deeply missed, we’re so grateful to now be part of this next chapter.

Enter Miss Sally… tiny, adorable, and already stealing hearts ✨ We had our very first walk with her today and she is just the cutest.

From gentle, mindful puppy care (yes, including all the puppy moments 😉) to longer, heartier walks for our more energetic companions—we’re here for every stage of the journey.
