Dear Bobby and the SDMPC members,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the fantastic experience at the Fiesta Pigeon Show this past Saturday, December 13. It was truly a day to remember at the Bill Harrison residence in Escondido.
From the moment I arrived at 8:00 AM, it was clear how much hard work and dedication went into organizing such a professional and welcoming event. The scale of the show was impressive, and the sense of community among the nearly 100 attendees—including so many new faces—made the atmosphere feel special.
Highlights of the Day
The Competition: Seeing over 250 birds on display was a treat. The English Trumpeter section was particularly remarkable with 81 birds represented.
The Judging: A huge thank you to Honorable Judge Leon Stephens and his team for their expertise. It was exciting to see the Voorburg Cropper owned by Fred Maenpa take home the Best in Show title.
The Generosity: The raffle was a major highlight! With 40 raffle items and the incredible donation of 12 sacks of 50-pound pigeon feed, the support from your sponsor, Volkman Seed Factory, was truly evident.
It was heartwarming to see so many San Diego friends coming together, with some driving several hours just to be part of the day. That kind of loyalty is a testament to the quality of the events you host.
Bobby, you and your team did a masterful job coordinating every detail. Thank you for providing a space where enthusiasts can gather, compete, and celebrate these beautiful birds. I am already looking forward to the next one!
