This is Spot. He's a lovable staffy bulldog mix with a heart of gold. His last owner died, and he and his sister were locked inside their house for 4 days waiting for their owner to come home before the police found them and took them to a shelter. There he watched his sister get adopted and while he stayed to be put on the kill list. At the last minute he was taken in by a foster family, where he recently completed his three week behavioral assessment.
Spot is partially deaf. He can hear things sometimes, but responds much more consistently to hand motions. He is fixed, with no sign of food aggression toward humans. He is wonderful with children of all ages, great with small animals, and ok with cats. He has no aggression toward cats unless there's food involved, but wants to play when they want nothing to do with him. He is potty trained with a combination of going outside and on piddle pads when left for long periods. He only barks occasionally when playing, is moderate energy, and does well in an apartment, but would be better in a house with a yard.
He has minor dominance issues, so he needs to go to a family with people who understand dogs or are willing to learn. A week into living with his foster family, he growled at his foster dad when told to get off the bed. The foster family decided to implement some rules (not allowed on furniture and eating only after humans ate) and there have been no issues since.
