This handsome 11yr boy is Gershwin. He came in recently for a new client exam to get a refill on his allergy medication, and other than a little hindlimb weakness, his owner thought he was doing great.

But during his exam, Dr. Johnson noticed he had a tumor in his testicle and was breathing a little heavier than normal, which led her to check his belly and find free blood. Within a few hours, he had a full ultrasound with our radiologist and was diagnosed with a splenic tumor, of which nearly 70% are very aggressive cancer. And just two days later, we removed his spleen and both testicles.

We are happy to report that Gershwin beat all the odds, and his histopath came back all benign! He is already feeling great and back to his old playful self.

(Gershwin's case also highlights the importance of wellness exams - we so often find things nobody expected. Make sure your pet get's a thorough in-person check-up every year!)

6yr old Panther came to us with a 2 1/2 year history of forelimb lameness. When he came to us, he was on Galliprant, Librela, Adequan, Dasuquin and omega-3s. We diagnosed him with moderate to severe bilateral elbow osteoarthritis, a right biceps tendinopathy, and bilateral partial cruciate tears.

The first video was Panther on the day he came to see us. The second is one month after intraarticular injections into both elbows with . He is showing huge improvement already, and you can even see some improvement in the hindlimb gait even though we haven’t done anything for that yet, just from the more even weight distrubution.

He is now receiving shockwave treatments for his biceps tendon, and then we will focus on his stifles. He is no longer receiving Librela and is weaning off Galliprant.
