I've heard music described as the universal language, something that transcends dialect and region to connect us in ways that are hard to describe yet familiar to recognize. I know that its life's blood courses through my veins and composes my entire being. We all need purpose in our lives. For some it's raising children but I've never had kids, so mine is making music and working with dogs, both connect me to my essence and higher spirit. Writing music is something I've done since I began playing guitar back in 1969, I'd take a few chords and come up with words & a melody. Sometimes it's like catching lightning in a bottle, other times it's simply an exercise in futility.. Either way it's a wonderful gift that's made to be shared and there's no such thing as wasting time playing your instrument.
