Loose-leash walking is a skill you can build together!

In our Walk With Me: Leash Foundations class, you’ll practice ways to help your dog focus and listen on leash, including what to do when distractions pop up and how to teach your dog to stop, turn, and follow you.

Our four-week small-group class is limited to just 3 handler teams, so everyone gets personal coaching. It’s for dogs 6 months and up who are comfortable learning around other dogs.

Stepping up and into the hearts of others ❤️

In our Heart to Heart Assisted Therapy Prep class, we’re teaching our therapy dogs in training to step up onto a platform.

It’s a fun way to build confidence around new objects and help dogs develop body awareness.

This skill can also help a dog get closer to someone they’re visiting…especially someone who may have a hard time bending down or reaching toward them.

Wouldn’t walks be more enjoyable if your dog wasn’t pulling or ignoring you on walks? 🐾

Try these tips:

1. Always leave home with food rewards.

2. Reward your dog often when the leash is loose.

3. Notice and reward them for walking near you.

4. If the leash tightens, pause and wait for slack.

5. Skip the jerks and corrections…reward the behavior you want to see.❤️
