You think I ignored the dog…
But I actually said hello the right way.

No eye contact.
No talking.
No pressure.

Just letting the dog use their nose first.
That’s how dogs gather information.
That’s how they decide if you’re safe.

What feels “rude” to humans…
is actually polite in the dog world.

💜 Respect their language, and trust comes naturally.

👇 Have you ever had a dog ignore you… then warm up later?

Your dog isn’t ignoring you.
They’re overwhelmed.

Most people think their dog is being stubborn… but what’s really happening is threshold overload.

Inside your home = low distraction → easy focus

Outside = smells, sounds, movement → brain overload

And when that happens?
👉 Your dog literally can’t listen

This is where most training breaks down.

Because instead of lowering the difficulty… people expect the same performance in a completely different environment.

That’s like expecting a kid to take a test in the middle of a concert.

💡 Start small
💡 Build gradually
💡 Reward calm focus

That’s how you get real results.

Most dog bites don’t come out of nowhere…
they come from signals people didn’t understand.

A wagging tail doesn’t always mean a happy dog.

Excitement. Tension. Uncertainty.

It can all look the same if you’re only watching the tail.

Start reading the whole dog, not just one piece of the picture.

Have you ever misread a tail wag? 👇

Not every dog needs more commands…some need a way to release what’s building inside them.

Neppie is a confident dog…but confidence doesn’t cancel out energy or anxiety.

So I didn’t just “train”…I gave him an outlet.

Swimming did three things:
*drained excess energy
*lowered his mental tension
*built trust between us

That’s where real progress happens, not just in what a dog does…but in how a dog feels.

👉 A tired dog isn’t always a calm dog…but a fulfilled dog is.

Neppie (Neptune) is a confident dog…
but confidence doesn’t mean calm.

He still needs an outlet for his energy, a way to release that built-up pressure, and space to build trust with me.

Swimming became that for him.

Not just exercise…but connection, confidence, and calm—together.

Puppies need 18–20 hours of sleep a day…but most don’t get it.

And when they’re overtired, they don’t slow down…they speed up.

More biting. More zoomies. More “not listening.”

Not bad behavior. A tired brain.

👉 Before you correct your puppy, ask yourself…are they tired?

Because sometimes the best training session is a nap.

Puppies aren’t crazy…they’re overtired.

Just like kids, when they miss sleep, they don’t calm down… they spiral up.

More biting.
More zoomies.
More “not listening.”
Not bad behavior.
A tired brain.

👉 Sometimes the solution isn’t more training…
it’s a nap.

This isn’t about the treadmill.

It’s about what happens when energy has nowhere to go.

When dogs don’t have a structured outlet… that energy doesn’t disappear.

It builds.

And it shows up as: Biting, Anxiety, Reactivity, “Not listening”

Brisket didn’t need more correction… she needed the right outlet.

👉 A calmer dog starts with how their energy is managed.

03/31/2026

Brisket showed up for her workout today…but decided to only use a few feet instead of all four. 😂

This is what happens when personality meets training.

Bulldogs are known for conserving energy…and clearly, Brisket has mastered it.

The goal isn’t to fight who your dog is…it’s to work with them. 🐾

If love was enough, every dog would already be saved.
But dogs are not all the same.
Some are soft.
Some are strong.
👉 The dog sets the level.

And if we don’t meet them there,
they don’t listen…
they don’t trust…
and they don’t change.

This is where training gets misunderstood.

People see a leash correction or physical touch and think it’s mean.

But here’s what most don’t understand…
If love was enough to rehab dogs, every dog would already be saved.

Some dogs are soft. Some dogs are strong.
👉 The dog sets the level.

If we don’t meet them where they are, they don’t listen…they don’t trust…and they don’t change.

And for some dogs, that matters more than people realize.
Because when a dog can’t be safely rehabbed, the outcome isn’t “more love.”

It’s often something much harder.
This is why training isn’t just about love. It’s about giving the dog what they need to succeed.

Ordinary practice repeats the same thing.

Extraordinary practice stops to analyze, adjusts something, then repeats.

Dog training is no different.

If we keep practicing the wrong thing, we simply get better at teaching the wrong lesson.
