This little guy is just refusing to give up. I called my vet to take him in to get euthanized yesterday, as he was just lifeless and barely responsive. My vet was out of the office, so it didn’t happen. I figured he wouldn’t survive the night, but if he did I’d take him into the emergency vet today to put him down. This morning I came in and he was squirming and had more life in him than he has for the last couple of days. He was eager to get to mom so I put him on a ni**le and he started nursing right away, which he hasn’t done for a couple of days. I am really trying hard to not get my hopes up for him, but as long as he continues to fight to live I’ll do everything I can

Well we’re down to 8 😓
It never gets easier losing a pup. After the little pink girl lost weight overnight I checked her over and it turned out she had a cleft palate. This makes it difficult for her to suction to be able to nurse, and if she does nurse, the likelihood of aspiration is very high. I started tube feeding her immediately, but the prognosis is never good for those pups. Another small little boy that was born outside of the sack and disconnected from the placenta is also struggling, so he is started on antibiotics and tube feeding and I hope he will get enough strength to pull through.
The other 7 are healthy and fat and mom is doing fantastic.
