We get asked all the time “do you do training sessions with your dogs everyday?”

Our answer is simple: no we don’t. However, we practice our training in the ways it’s meant for by using it every single day in our daily routines whether that be by sitting until released at meal times, going on place while there are visitors, heeling past neighbors on a busy sidewalk, etc. The best way to keep your training intact is to find ways to use it in everyday scenarios!

✨ Training Tip Tuesday ✨
🐶 Puppy Edition

Tips from our trainer Izahbellah on where to start with your puppy! 🐾

1. Crate training: crate training is often looked at as a way to contain your dog while that’s true it also has plenty of other benefits such as a potty training aid, stress management tool, and a safe way to travel.

2. Emotional response: Prioritize emotional responses whether that be to training, the trash truck, new environments, etc. Rather than worry about obedience in new scenarios, focus on your dog’s mindset, obedience will come!

3. Learning to do nothing: one of the biggest reasons people come to training is because they want a cafe dog but what they don’t realize is you have to teach your dog to relax everywhere. Start teaching your dog to do nothing at home by utilizing a crate, place, or tethering.

4. Start early: Focus on building a solid foundation early so the later stages of development are easier. When boundaries and structure are already in place, the likelihood of struggling later is lower. Set your puppy up for adulthood success now.
