🚨 SCARED AND TRAUMATIZED, SHE WANTS TO TRUST SO BADLY. AT RISK SAT 5/23 💔

🐾 LONDON –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S3012

• Female
• 4 years old
• American Staffy
• 35 lbs
• 🕒 53 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/22
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/23 without confirmed placement

London is not shutting down because she’s “mean.”

She’s terrified.

Her notes describe a dog who:
⚠️ retreats from people
⚠️ flinches at noises
⚠️ avoids eye contact
⚠️ low growls while backing away
⚠️ lunges when overwhelmed

But read further and you see something heartbreaking:

🩵 she slowly comes closer for treats
🩵 she takes treats gently from hand
🩵 she stands beside the handler after time and patience
🩵 she wants connection, but fear keeps winning

This is a severely undersocialized dog trapped in one of the loudest, most overwhelming environments imaginable.

And despite all of that… she still keeps trying.

London is also a nursing mama who recently weaned 6 puppies. She has been treated for kennel cough, significant weight loss after nursing, and suspected mastitis.

53 DAYS in shelter.

53 days of stress, fear, noise, and survival mode.

She desperately needs:
🏡 a rescue experienced with fearful dogs
🏡 a patient foster
🏡 a calm decompression space

📣 📣 UPDATE 5/25: Pretty Boy’s hold DROPPED and now he needs a miracle by tomorrow TUE 5/26 to survive! Please continue to SHARE, and consider fostering/adopting/rescuing. Don’t let this sweet boy keep being ignored 🙏🏼🙏🏼📣📣‼️‼️ OUT OF STATE ADOPTION possible through Paws Saving Paws Rescue 🐾

🚨 HE’S STILL JUST A BABY 💔 PRETTY BOY HAS BEEN WAITING 29 DAYS FOR SOMEONE TO SAVE HIM - AT RISK MON 5/18🚨

🐾 PRETTY BOY –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S4404

• Male
• ~11 months old
• American Staff mix
• Small size
• 💔 29 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/15
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/18 without confirmed placement

Pretty Boy is still basically a puppy.

And despite spending nearly a month in the shelter, his notes continue to describe a sweet, social dog who seeks affection from people 🩵

✔️ Loose body
✔️ Wagging tail
✔️ Approaches handlers for affection
✔️ Takes treats gently
✔️ Easy to leash and walk

When he first arrived, staff noted he was:

💔 Trembling
💔 Full body shaking
💔 Extremely scared

But they also specifically wrote:
“very sweet and not aggressive.”

The shelter notes mention a mild bite incident that occurred while he was being separated from a dog fight.

That context matters.

This is not described as an unprovoked attack — it occurred during an active altercation.

He’s also currently being treated for presumptive CIRD/kennel cough symptoms.

After nearly a month in a loud, overcrowded shelter, this young dog is running out of time simply because there is nowhere for him to go.

🏡 Pretty Boy needs:

• Foster or adopter
• Rescue backing
• A calm decompression environment
• Continued medical monitoring for URI symptoms
• A chance to finally feel safe

He survived 29 days in the shelter.
Please don’t let that end in euthanasia.

🚨 LILLY IS RUNNING OUT OF TIME AFTER JUST DAYS IN THE SHELTER - AT RISK 5/16 💔

A stressed, overwhelmed dog facing euthanasia instead of decompression and support.

🐾 LILLY (previously KORA) –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S3024

• Female
• ~5 years old
• Pit Bull Terrier mix
• Large size
• 💔 4 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/15
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/18 without confirmed placement

Lilly’s notes describe a dog who is social with handlers and easy to leash and walk outside — but highly reactive around other dogs in the stressful shelter environment.

She escalated quickly during playgroup interactions and was difficult to redirect once aroused.

That information matters and should be taken seriously.

At the same time, the notes also describe:

🩵 “Nice girl” in vet notes
🩵 Able to be handled and walked
🩵 Social with people
🩵 Undergoing treatment for painful ear issues

Pain, stress, overcrowding, constant barking, barriers, and leash frustration can heavily impact behavior in shelter settings.

Lilly needs:

🏡 Rescue or experienced placement
🏡 A dog-free home or careful management
🏡 Decompression outside the shelter
🏡 Continued medical care for ear issues
🏡 Structure and behavioral support

Not every dog belongs in a busy playgroup environment.

That does not automatically mean they should die.

🚨 PLEASE SAVE/SHARE LILLY 🚨

She needs the right placement — fast.

🚨 FOUR DAYS OF PERFECT PLAYGROUP NOTES… AND ARIA IS STILL ON THE EUTH LIST FOR WED 5/20 💔

🐾 ARIA –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S3022

• Female
• 2 years old
• American Staffy mix
• 46 lbs
• 🕒 13 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/18
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/20 without confirmed placement

Aria’s notes are heartbreaking for a different reason:

There’s almost nothing bad in them.

No aggression.
No major behavioral concerns.
No escalating playgroup issues.

Just the same thing over and over:

🩵 loose body
🩵 wagging tail
🩵 greets appropriately
🩵 coexists with male and female dogs
🩵 easy to leash
🩵 easy to return to kennel

Four separate playgroup notes.
Four separate days.
The same positive behavior every time.

And still… she’s running out of time because the shelter is full.

Aria appears to simply be getting overlooked.

Meanwhile she’s sitting in a kennel dealing with:
⚠️ skin irritation/hair loss
⚠️ fleas
⚠️ possible allergy issues
⚠️ coughing concerns from the shelter environment

She deserves to heal somewhere safe.

🚨 PLEASE SAVE/SHARE ARIA 🚨

🚨 HIT BY A CAR. POSSIBLE AMPUTATION. STILL LOOKING FOR LOVE - AT RISK FRI 5/22 💔

🐾 GRAHAM –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S3005

• Female
• 2 years old
• Hound mix
• 42 lbs
• 🕒 20 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/20
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/22 without confirmed placement

Graham reportedly came in after being hit by a car.

Her injuries are severe:
⚠️ extensive abrasions across her body
⚠️ deep wounds to her leg
⚠️ degloving injury with bone exposure
⚠️ swelling and possible fractures
⚠️ may require rear leg amputation depending on healing

And despite all of it…

🩵 she approaches people with a loose body and wagging tail
🩵 takes treats gently
🩵 leans into handlers for affection
🩵 is described as “very sweet”

This girl is badly injured and still asking humans for comfort.

She needs:
🏡 a foster
🏡 an adopter
🏡 a rescue commitment
🏥 continued medical care

Instead, she’s now facing euthanasia because the shelter is out of space.

• Male
• 4 years old
• Retriever mix
• 62 lbs
• 🕒 14 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/20
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/22 without confirmed placement

Rocco came in injured.

He has puncture wounds around his face, swelling on the right side of his head, and is now being treated for a respiratory infection on top of everything else.

But even while nervous and unsure…

🩵 he slowly comes over for attention
🩵 lowers his head and starts wagging his tail
🩵 takes treats gently
🩵 allows pets after sitting quietly with him
🩵 walks away scared… then comes back for more scratches

This boy wants to trust so badly.

He just needs someone patient enough to let him feel safe again.

Rocco urgently needs:
🏡 a foster
🏡 an adopter
🏡 a rescue hold

🚨 PLEASE SAVE/SHARE ROCCO 🚨

He should not lose his life while recovering and trying so hard to connect with people.

🚨 HE’S JUST A PUPPY. NOT A SENIOR. TIME IS UP TOMORROW SAT 5/25 💔

🐾 DASHER –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S4401

• Male
• ⚠️ ACTUALLY 9 MONTHS OLD (not 9 years)
• American Staffy mix
• 40 lbs
• 🕒 25 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/14
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/23 without confirmed placement

Dasher is still basically a baby.

His notes read exactly like an adolescent dog with too much excitement, poor social manners, and no outlet in a stressful shelter environment.

He’s:
🩵 friendly with handlers
🩵 easy to leash and walk
🩵 playful with dogs
🩵 social with male and female dogs
🩵 eager to interact

But because he’s young, overstimulated, and rude with dog communication at times, he gets overexcited during play and doesn’t always respect boundaries.

That’s not uncommon for adolescent dogs — especially in a loud shelter after nearly a month of kennel stress.

He doesn’t need to die for being an immature puppy.

He needs:
🏡 structure
🏡 decompression
🏡 guidance
🏡 normal training a young dog should have gotten outside the shelter

Even through kennel cough treatment, staff still describes him as:
✨ friendly
✨ ambulatory
✨ social
✨ easy to return to kennel

🚨 HE WALKS THROUGH THE YARD WITH TUCKED EARS… TRYING TO STAY OUT OF TROUBLE. AT RISK WED 5/20 💔

🐾 KING –
📍 San Antonio Animal Care Services
📍 Kennel S4036

• Male
• 6 years old
• American Staffy mix
• Medium size
• 🕒 13 days at shelter
• ⚠️ At risk since 5/18
• 🚨 Euthanasia listed for 5/19 without confirmed placement

King’s notes don’t describe a difficult dog.
They describe a nervous one.

A dog walking slowly into the yard with:
⚠️ a tense body
⚠️ tucked ears
⚠️ uncertainty

But even while overwhelmed, he still:
🩵 coexisted with male and female dogs
🩵 walked the yard independently
🩵 allowed handling
🩵 returned easily to kennel

He wasn’t starting problems.
He was trying to manage his stress.

Dogs like King often shut down in the shelter environment.

The noise.
The confinement.
The constant pressure.

Some dogs bark and explode.

Others quietly carry their fear in their body language.

That’s King.

He deserves the chance to decompress somewhere safe instead of losing his life for kennel space.
