Jomei just turned one year old recently. We are working to refresh his obedience and instill some manners. He is supposed to work as a service dog. Due to unfortunate circumstances, his owners have not been able to stay consistent with his progress. He would rather play than work. Here, he is learning to respect boundaries and building on some basic skills like impulse control. This will be a foundation for furthering his ability to work and learn more advanced techniques in the future.

Have a safe and happy New Year everyone! Be sure to keep your dogs secure so they can't escape during the fireworks. For those with puppies, this can be a perfect opportunity to show them that loud noises aren't the end of the world! Just be sure to use proper equipment when handling them. A slip lead or Martingale collar will prevent them from getting away. Harnesses can easily be backed out of resulting in a lost pet! Have fun with your furry companion and let them enjoy bringing in the new year with you since you are their world! Only try this if you are confident in your ability to manage your dog's Behavior. Good luck and have fun!

Also, let welcome Archie to our puppy training program! He is a 9 week old golden retriever. He is super rambunctious and willing to fight for his right to party! We will be working with his owners to help mitigate his excitement and demanding Behavior.

Recently Bella has started training with us. She's a rescue from Guadalupe County . Bella has a lot of excitability around other dogs and likes to harass the cat that lives in her new home. We plan to build structure in her life and help her owners become the best leaders they can be in order to create peace in their home and help Bella respect personal space. She is very intelligent and has lots of potential to be a great part of the family!

Twixx! Continuing with progress and learning to trust her environment while learning new skills. So great to see what she is capable of. 🙂

Twixx is slowing becoming more confident in herself and learning to deal with stress in a healthy way. She has been practicing her obedience around unfamiliar places to build structure so we can hold her to a higher standard with more expectation. She wasn't very well socialized so we are working toward making her responses to unfamiliar objects more neutral. You can see more of her progress in the comment section.

Hope has been making huge strides in training recently. Halal, a foreign exchange student, is beginning to build structure on top of the trust that has been earned recently. They are both learning to respect one another's personal space in order to be successful and confident.

Clover is growing and finding new ways to get what she wants. We are staying ahead of the game by showing her our expectations of her in different environments. She is a very smart pup and picks up quickly. Great job Clover!

This is Mac. He's a young pup with a lot of energy and tendencies to nip and herd his family... I wonder why? because he's a cattle dog mix haha! He is full of love and excitement but is a little over-the-top. Now we must help him learn to control his impulses so we can hold him accountable in the future and teach him to be a trustworthy family member.

Hope has a difficult time with new people. She is an absolute sweetheart but lacks personal boundaries and overwhelms herself during interaction. Often she barks and growls and then will jump for attention, this can be scary. She was rescued from a shelter and is living with a family that loves her unconditionally but she has learned to take advantage of them in order to get what she wants. Now we must work toward changing the way Hope views the relationship between her family and herself in order to help her feel safe and respect others.

Twixx is currently being fostered with a loving family but she has shown aggression around new faces and unfamiliar experiences. We are working to build confidence in her while teaching her new skills and manners. One day she will be ready to find her forever home and I am honored to be a part of the journey!

It's always good to know that what I do makes a difference in many people's lives. With dedication and a strong-will we can achieve our most sought after goals. I am always grateful for the experiences I have with my clients and the opportunity to grow alongside them as I am always learning myself!

It's also wonderful getting updates on their progress!
(I know many of you have sent updates, I'm not trying to be choosy I just am horrible about posting so I'm working on my consistency just as much as you! ) and Facebook makes it difficult to upload.
