Missions Compost is excited to announce our official acquisition of Compost Queens, San Antonio’s pioneering private haulers. Since 2017, Compost Queens has been a cornerstone in the community, driving San Antonio towards enhanced local sustainability and reduced methane emissions. We are honored to become stewards of such a company that shares the same values as Mission Compost.

Where are our beloved Compost Queens?

Betsy is still on the tractor at Talking Tree Farm! She is able to focus on her passion of turning compost into a valuable resource. We are working with her to help turn your compost into nutrient soil!

Kate is working with the Office of Sustainability with the City of San Antonio. She is able to apply everything she has learned with Compost Queens to help our community reach some incredible, sustainable goals!

As we embark on this new journey, we are committed to upholding the core values of quality, service, and integrity that define both our brands. We would like to give a HUGE congratulations to our COO, Alma Rominger, who has been officially accepted to the Class of 2025 MBA program! She will be attending school in Austin to learn more about sustainable strategies, innovations, and overall improving organizational business practices.

We make our own Bokashi Flakes!

Using coffee chaff from a local coffee roasting company. Then we inoculate it with a home brewed EM1 (Effective Microbes) from & feed the microbes with molasses. Let it ferment in a bucket, and finally air dry! 🌬️

There are so many ways make bokashi. Have you tried this method of composting yet??

Did you know that has more than 7,000 pounds of food waste from going to the since 2021!!!!???? 😯

We have been partnered with them for over 2 years and have learned so much about the different ways they are working on creating a more sustainable future. From their building infrastructure, to the kitchen and cafeteria, they believe that small individual changes can add up!
